Apparently Tolbert Is Giving Intel On The Panthers Offense To The Same Coaches Who Are From Said Panthers Team

I don't understand why this is a big deal. This happens to every team every year, do the Bills and media think teams don't gameplay for this? Do the think Shula and Rivera brush their teeth with rocks? We will change stuff, that's probably why we didn't see an evolved O this last Sunday. I don't know I'm just spit balling.

I listened to some local radio takes on this last weak with Garcia and a couple other former players I don't recall who but I think it was Omar Gaither and maybe Schwartz.  They seemed to all agree that the gleaning of information from former players was pretty much a myth.while I don't readily take anything said on local radio to be absolute fact I can get behind that stance.  Teams scout you and look at hours of film.  The only secrets Mike Tolbert is spilling is the Panthers training camp chef's enchilada recipe.

I believe this "Myth" is a hold over from a by gone era. Back in the day, players did not move around as much as they do now. You were very likely to spend your entire career with one team. So if you did move teams, you just may be able to supply some info. Also, this was before the interwebz, so teams were scrambling to get any info they could. So player info meant more.

That said. Talent is the great unequalizer. And we have a rather big edge there.

Honestly,  it's much ado about nothing.  I've heard it said by several players, coaches, and analysts over the years, some IIRC, even from our own team, that basically we are who we are.  What that means is, we do what we do and basically, are coynying on our execution of it to be better than your execution of what you do as an opponent.  We dont try to outsmart you, ot out strategize you, we basically say, "this is our team, this is our scheme.  May the best team win."  Sure, we may throw in a wrinkle here or there, but we never really deviate from what we do and who we are.  It's why there are rarely any noticeable adjustments in game, because we don't have a plan B, lol.  So, We're gonna line up on Sunday, 11 on 11, and see who has the better team.  Point blank, period.

I was thinking we should sign one of their former scrubs to do the same to them, but I was forgetting that Buffalo is trash and there's really no need to.

We already traded for one

This right here, this is rock solid pal.

End of the day, you could tell the opposition the play you're running and it still wouldn't matter if you executed it properly. When I used to play OL when I was younger, we were always told to point out who we were blocking at the LOS, our coach told us it doesn't matter if they know you're blocking them because if you're blocking him they can't do anything about it.

So what, it all comes down to the execution of plays by the players. I don't see the Bills as executing much of anything significant with their current roster, even with pulling out their own Panther play book. Especially on our home turf.

Bingo!

Like back when AP was a thing. .. teams would load up 8 and 9 in the box trying to stop him, they knew it was coming, but he'd still rip off a 8 yard gain, it's all about execution

Exactly.

Not only that, there are probably 25 different offensive formations in the playbook with 25 different wrinkles for each.  Good luck predicting which one happens to be coming next.  Teams that anticipate one thing might be right once in a while but will usually be wrong.

The whole connection between us and Buffalo as far as coach, GM, and players is simply something to talk about this week until the games start back this weekend.  Getting tired of hearing about it honestly because I don't think it's a big deal.  Players and coaches that have been in the league for a while have basically seen it all.

Not to mention that the schedule has been released for quite some time......you really think RR and his staff didn't plan accordingly in an effort to not show everything they have planned for this year in week 1 against SF, knowing the Bills were on the schedule in week 2?  Come on now.

I'm really hoping someone pops that fat fug in the mouth on Sunday.  He who does, though, will have to face the wrath of his mother.

All Tolbert has to do is play this Sunday for the Bills like he did last season for the Panthers and he'll have done more than his fair share in helping Carolina win the game.
