Bottom line is teams just don't waive good young corners.

Maybe the Panthers can develop him into a good backup. Would not shock me if Wilks does.

But thats where the expectations should be. No where else.

My understanding is they waived this guy to make room for Geronimo Allison on the 53 after his suspension. GB has alot of young talent at the position.

He's not All-Pro but he's not garbage either. He got burnt by Jones and Dez but he did hold Odell to 28 yards on 4-6 catches(IIRC).

The dude had a pro comparison to Norman coming out. That said, with his height/weight and physicality, I'm confident Wilks can mold him into something. By no means am I saying he's the second coming of JNo, but you can't count the kid out. He's not the fastest so our scheme should suit him well.

2016: Bradberry, Worley, Johnson, Sanchez, Teddy Williams

2017: Bradberry, Worley, Munnerlyn, Seymour, Gunter.

I see an upgrade ...and potential to eventually be a strength in a year or so.

Gunter has played safety and nickel too. You're not going to find a better value than this guy off the waiver wire.

Didn't he play safety at Miami?

With Seymour and Gunter now we have some depth if Worley continues to struggle.

I wouldn't say Worley struggled. He had a good rookie year where he started out bad but improved to above average.

our defense gave up under 200 yards passing. He did fine.

Agree

It was never a question of Hurney "trying". He certainly gave it his best effort. He just wasn't a good enough talent evaluator to succeed.

This guy? Got no problem with him, but I'd agree people are probably getting a little more excited than they should. Bottom of the roster guys that get "churned in" also have a tendency to get churned back out.

Maybe he'll develop, but don't put him in the Hall of Fame just yet.

No ppl feel like they have to give credit for a good pickup because of all the bitching in this fanbase right now..

Plain and simple real fans see the basis going on out of some of you..

If this move was made by "him who doesn't have a job" it would have been seen as genius with no question.. And if it failed like others moves by him did it would have been excuse and forgotten about.

blah blah you just hating the move cause Hurney the one that made if it was gettleman you would be first in line to suck his dick and let him cum on your face.

This comment bothers me.

You do know the Jeremy runs this place, don't you?  Have a little ******* respect.   I may or may not always agree with Jeremy but I damn sure always show him respect with his opinion.

Fortunately for you, I don't run the show because this comment would have you zapped, banned and skinned for your blatant lack of respect.

Mother fuging +1 I'm no Hurney guy by any means, but if Gettles made this move, the slobbering would be non-stop and there'd be a 25 paragraph essay by Saca on how he's the next shutdown.

I believe Gettleman WOULD have made this move. Ladarius Gunter is a prototypical Panthers corner.  He may not be quite as good as Bradberry  but he's long, he's technically sound, he's versatile, he's a good ST'er, and he tackles very well. Gettleman might have handled the kickers differently but we will never really know that for sure. TBH, that part feels more like RR's doing to me.
