I didn't watch the Bills game yesterday. Are they actually playing hard, or did they get the benefit of playing a Jets team that is tanking their season?

I did watch the game, all of it. The offense did well when running the ball and was basically conservative. Their defense, well, uh, didn't look so good. Yeah, they stopped the Jets but it was the Jets (and why the Jets didn't run the ball more is beyond me). Bills' defense did not look like they wanted to win, like they weren't hungry enough. If something doesn't spark their d-line, our o-line is going to eat their lunch. On the bright side, Tolbert did the same 1st down & TD dances he did here, it was good to see him.

Keys to winning: (1) Stop the run game. McCoy is a beast & Tolbert a nice complement. (2) Be disciplined on ST's, stay the gap, and watch out for Brandon Tate. (3) Same offense game plan as SF pretty much, need an on-his-game Cam & a speedy WR to complement.

It won't be easy but we got this.

I expect a bigger challenge than this week, but the fact is that Buffalo is similar to the 49ers in that they a decent defense, a solid running game, and below average QB.  McDermott will have them ready to play, but the Panthers should win based on the overall talent level if they execute on offense and give a similar defensive effort.

The encouraging thing about yesterday was that Cam came out and did much better in the 2nd Half than in the 1st.  Granted, he didn't have to do a lot given how dominant the defense and the running game was, but he seemed to be getting some of his confidence back.

Yesterday was a defacto warmup for Cam, and he did okay everything considered.  The misfire to Dickson was unacceptable, but Cam seemed to see the field good after the first couple of series and he got used to the game speed again.

I personally think our team is going to be more like the 2013 Panthers than the 2015 Panthers at this point, but who really knows based on 1 game.  I am just as cool with winning in the 20's as much as in the 30's.

If we can win the TOP, grind out long drives on the ground, and keep our defense fresh and effective, we can win a lot of games.  I'm hoping as time goes on and Cam gets back healthier we can find a way to work Samuel/Byrd/deep threat back more into the offense.

The good news is I think we got at least more game in Buffalo we can win like we did yesterday before taking on better offenses in the Saints and Patriots.

Tolbert and Mccoy ran well but the Jets defense looked horrible. Guys just falling down with nobody around them. Aside from that the Bills were less than impressive.

The Bills are not the team people remember. They have heart. Just lack some talent in some positions.  The lines matchup well, both have strong DL and OL. But buffalo is probably better with he underrated Kyle Williams.

They're not a good team but neither are the Panthers. You don't want to hear it but it's true. And I know your team well. I put hundreds on them to lose the Super Bowl. I had money in them finishing worse than Buffalo last year. This year y'all will win 6-8 games.  Keuchly is done. Davis is your best. Your backfield is a mess but young. Your DL is an enigma. Your QB a loser. Your OL underappreciated. Your RB doesn't exist save for the young kid who will eventually struggle. Your WR is a fatass. And Olsen is a god.

You're not starting a discussion with that poo post. You're trying to start an argument. You're 15.

    • I mean it's not even like this was his worst game of the season... I'm not done with him by any means but this feels more the norm for him than the exception:/
    • I'd give it a C mainly because of Brooks.  If we just didn't have a 2nd I'd argue B to B+ tbh. Brooks was a bad gamble, tho one that could still pay off long term. Yes XL only has 400 yards but... Look who is throwing him the ball. And I think he isn't a "true #1" but he's been able to consistently get open. Hands definitely need to be cleaned up.  But he should end the year with 500-600 yards. Like you said - Sanders looks great.  Get him a better QB / more time with a QB and I think he's gonna impress. We added a couple rotational players on D that have both made plays and show promise for the future from later rounds. So I'd say, Brooks really hurts this drafts grade. It'll be interesting to see how it progresses over the next 3 years. I've overall really liked Morgan's FA acquisitions, so...
    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
