Long story short, I pulled my hamstring about 5 months ago. I've tried to nurse it as best I can since I have a physically demanding job,  but it's not healing like it should.  I've tried wraps, wearing a knee brace, ointments, etc. and I'm looking at doing some essential oil treatments now as well. Any of you out there dealt with something like this and have any ideas that could help?

Lemon grass.  A deep tissue massage will also help. Maybe not specifically on the hammy but I suspect due to the injury you've compensated and it's caused you to get "out of whack".  I think not all deep tissue massages are the same though. Best ones I ever had was by a Dutch/Indonesian man who was good at getting out the knots but the massages were quite painful as most of my problems were due to runnng and  were isolated in areas such as the calves and quads.
