What were you worried about based on Pre-season, and how did it turn out yesterday?

Are you a new NFL fan? Last year means next to nothing right now. I don't bet on stupid crap like this.

Last year means nothing? that's what browns fans tell themselves every year.

You don't bet cause you know its losing bet, the 49ers will continue to have a terrible run and we struggled mightily against them.

I like to win. We should beat bad teams. But yesterday did very little to show me where the team is really at.

I think our D-line will be all we thought it would be. I think the safety play is better than what some thought it would be. I'm not so sure about our secondary because there were some drops, Hoyer missed some passes, and the refs missed some calls that probably should have gone against Bradberry. Moreover, Garcon still ate, and he is there only legit receiver.

On offense, we did what we had to do in the receiving game. Shepard got in on a broken coverage and comical play by the DB. We ran hard and between the RBs running and catching, I like the way we kept them off balance. Another week in practice, and Cam will get in the groove.

Generally, I guess I'm a little more optimistic, but still wondering if we can compete with the big boys.

I expect to beat the Bills pretty easily also.

I was concerned about our secondary. I still am. Too many open WRs and busted coverages. Luckily they were all underneath, which very well could have been the gameplan (keep everything in front of you)

i was concerned about Shula not getting CMC going. Turns out he went overboard and forgot about Olsen,Benji, andFunch. (Also think this could have been the gameplan to slowly work Cam back)

Overall we got a W, so not too mad, but I am concerned after watching Chicago and KC work their RBs masterfully.

Honestly, I think it all boils down to predictability on the offensive side of the ball. For example, 3rd and 8..... we all knew it was gonna be a slant to Benji before it happened. So did SF D. Luckily he dropped the pick. I think we're far too talented on offense to be predictable in any way shape or form.

I know that we will continue to build and get better, but it is frustrating knowing our RB is more talented than Hunt and Cohen and those two in particular were used masterfully.

The ball was going to CMC so often I was like damn...... The other players are gonna start not liking this guy.

The Sky isn't falling but those are my concerns.

D line and LBs played out of their minds! O-line did well at protecting Cam and getting a good push even when we were clearly running the ball. That's a very very big deal!

I can't wait until we can put defenses on their heels where they have no Fing idea what to expect.

Cohen and Hunt were a lot less hyped that CMC coming in to week one. The defenses they faced didn't know to keep an eye on them. CMC's hype was spread abroad to the point I'm sure the 49ers were expecting us to use him heavily.

Week 2 will tell us alot. I expect Cohen and Hunt to have a performance similar to that of McCaffrey this week rather than what they both did week 1.

Ah, forgot to mention secondary depth.  It was a big concern in preseason - especially at the end when Teddy Williams and Zach Sanchez got hurt (neither of these guys are good, but at least they are bodies who've played in our defense.)

It was pretty heart-stopping when both Bradberry & Worley left to get IVs.

This is a situation that does not feel good, and won't until we see guys like Seymour and D Cox proving they can provide some depth at CB and S.

Bet me then mouth breather, if your so positive about the niners defense just put your money were your mouth is

Outside of Bowman theirs not a single proven defensive player on that team

Stop with this ignorance.

Yiu have failed to acknowledge that they were doing a good job stopping the run in the first half.

They had a game plan, and it was to stop the run, and force the Panthers to pass. Pretty good game plan since everybody in the world knew Cam would be rusty.

You can piss and moan about where they'll be ranked all you want to, won't change what happened.

They literally have overturned that entire unit. Only 16 players are leftover from the entire 53 from last year.

you have to be a special kind of idiot to not know how difficult it is to be able to drive it down their throat when backed up on the 1 yard line when they are selling out against the run.

It's really not that hard when the other team has given up

You would think we lost by 12... smh. it wasn't an explosive performance but it got the job done.. My only concern is ST penalties.

Exactly. It's week one. Did anyone watch those powerhouse offenses like Atlanta, GreenBay and Seattle yesterday?  They scored 23, 17, and 9 points

Yep it won't change what happen, our running game was embarrassing. You know how much teams come in with that same game plan of "stopping the run, forcing to pass" game after game, season after season? That doesn't excuse that piss poor performance by the running game. Even niners fans were shocked by how bad our offense was, they don't weather to celebrate their D or just chalk it up as bad panthers offense.

I don't make bets over the internet with people I don't know because it's a stupid thing to do, regardless of who's right. Carry on with your ignorance though...

There really is some real stupidity in this thread. Can't say I'm surprised based on who the posters are though.

Our run game was fine.  Not great but not even close to bad.

My major concern is secondary depth and nothing has changed.  Thankfully Bradberry/Worley were only out a play or two and it wasn't exposed.

We beat one of the worst teams in the NFL, every concern should still be on the table. We get to week 6 at 4-2 and we can start being confident....until then we have no idea what this team is all about.

Funny that the talk on Saturday was this would be a tough game and Shanahan offense would give us trouble. Now we dominate them and it is they were bad. They were bad because we made them look bad.
