Our running game is horrible.

We drove it down the field backed up on the 1 yard line and finished an 8 minute drive in victory formation.

You just don't understand football.

I was just about to have my morning constitutional too... enjoy it, Gooby

Shula's use of CMC.

Evolution my ass, they just told cam to take the check down more often

I understand your frustration but checking down isn't a bad thing. That is something that the Panthers have failed to do in the past. CMC opens up things for other players. He missed Dickson who was wide open because SF had three defender looking at CMC. The one time he failed to check down he threw and INT into double coverage. So maybe the revolution is have a player for defender to key on thereby opening the offense.

I had a natural concern of Cam being rusty. It was worse than I anticipated. I think he'll be fine going forward and will improve each week.

I was concerned about the secondary and the quick timing patterns that usually get us. They still seem to be susceptible.

Do you know how bad the Niners defense is? I will be willing to bet you they finish with a bottom 10 defense this year, and we could only muster about 3.2 ypc . Just cause all we did was run it all cost doesn't mean its impressive.

How do you know how good or bad their defense? This was the first game with a different team than last year.

That is exactly how I see It as well, just was hoping for something different I guess,  hell, Sheppard's td was same play we've ran with Ginn many times, but wins are all that matter, just tired of the boring vanilla offense that we've had for so long, let our playmaker ball out

What is wrong with you? We ran it down their throats even though they knew it was coming to finish out the game. How many teams can do that nowadays?

I will say that the inability to run the ball in the first half was a little disappointing.  I am not sure if it was a case of us performing poorly or SF experiencing an improvement in its run defense.  I would guess that its probably a little of both.  But we wore them down, and in that last series, we were able to ram it down their throat, and that is a little promising.

They had far and away the worst run D in the league last year, you think they are gonna be some juggernaut run D over a season with a offensive HC?

You got a paypal? how much you want to bet the niners finish with a bottom 10 defense????

They literally have overturned that entire unit. Only 16 players are leftover from the entire 53 from last year.

you have to be a special kind of idiot to not know how difficult it is to be able to drive it down their throat when backed up on the 1 yard line when they are selling out against the run.

Our O-line (specifically the tackles) was my number 1 concern going into this season.

Although my concerns about our O-line diminished somewhat as the pre-season went on, I still really needed to see them tested in a real game that mattered, playing 100% of snaps.

Overall they looked pretty good, (though Ryan Kalil durability may still be an issue.  It was scary seeing him go out with a potential injury even though it proved to be nothing.)

Cam's rust / timing given his lack of preseason play was certainly a concern going into the game, and it seemed a real issue, especially in the 1st half.  But that completion to KB and his 10 yard scramble for a 1st down seemed to get the juices flowing and he looked much better in the 2nd half.
