I'll agree with you on the football, but that's it. Summer is great, and I didn't take advantage of the hot weather enough this year. Nascar has the worst timing with it's schedule because as soon as football starts, I stop watching, and I miss the whole chase. Maybe if there were more saturday races I wouldn't. I'm pulling for Martin most, but wouldn't mind seeing Smoke win it, and Jimmie wouldn't be bad. Chevy FTW!! Baseball is a snooze.

Yeah, that's their biggest problem. They will NEVER beat football in head to head on a Sunday afternoon.

They don't schedule it right and to top that off, thru the season, a race is shown on a total of 5 networks. Your average fan can't keep up with it. Those who are ate up with it (like me) can tell you but the fan they are targeting gives up trying to figure which flippin channel the sh!ts on!

I thought about making a post about the “enlightened” sports fan. You know, the guy who can be critical of the organization when the team’s losing, but still realizes that you’re not going to have playoff seasons every year. The guy who loves the team, but is able to put it all in perspective and not let his team’s poor performances put a damper on his life in general.

These three losses have removed all expectations I’ve had for this season and, in an odd way, I can now just try to enjoy the season a game at a time with no thought of the future or playoffs. If we win, awesome. If we lose, no big deal – we’re not going anywhere this season any way. Win or lose, we’re going to see some changes, and that’s interesting in and of itself.

Other great things about this time of year: great weather, good food, good beer.

I think you are right on...with us going to the superbowl in 2003 it really gave the fans High expectations...and with all the up and down years, we have been on a crazy fuc7ing roller coaster ride. Now that we know we have some serious problems with our team we can atleast sit back, relax, have some beer and hope that we can look just a little better each and every game!

yeah, this. You know, it'd be great to be a Pats fan, or a 90s Dallas fan, or 80s San Fran fan. To rarely lose and always be in the race. There's a lot of appeal to that.

There have been a handful of teams like that in my lifetime, and I haven't been blessed to be a fan of one of them. I'm not going to be one of those douchey, bandwagon fans. I've got my team and you always want the best for them, but if it's not in the cards for this year to be the first year of some expected Panther dynasty, pitching a little whiny fit isn't going to do anything but make me one of those fans.
