Pressure and coverage.

Garcon may go 300 yard.

We'll see how old Mike Adams is.

No. He's not going for that much lmao.

Doubt he even exceeds 100+ yards. Only two receivers have even done that with Bradberry fully healthy, with one of those receivers getting around 50+ on backup MLB AJ Klein.

Brian Hoyer

Unfortunately, Panthers defenses are notorious for making backups and journeymen look like superstars. We almost lost to the great Luke McCown at home in 2015 because he carved us up like a turkey underneath all day. I hope we don't have a repeat of that.

Biggest key for me is that we cannot allow the 49ers to go up early. Tommorow is the most optimistic the crowd may be but that can be stymied quickly if we can assert our presence.

It isn't hard to stop a Shanahan offense without Julio Jones who accounted for 500 yards in the 2 games last year. Add we won't use rookie corners either. Remember that Atlanta wasn't that great under Shanahan in 2015. It took Ryan time to learn the system. I can't believe Hoyer is going to be better than Ryan in his first year in the system. His first game? Our defense always struggled against ticky tack finesse passing attacks that nickel and dime you all day. Because we played zone and not aggressively. We should come out in press coverage man with a cover 1 on top and linebackers in zone or man depending on the number of receivers. Bring heat occasionally and pressure with a good pass rush. No quarterback has a good day when he is constantly on his butt or backpedaling.

@panthers55 Hoyer has actually had a year under Shanahan under one season. Though it was bad lol.

Either way, he knows the system.

If you are talking about at Cleveland in 2014. If that is the system the 49ers will run then there will be little problem.. I assumed it would be the one he used in Atlanta. Unless you think that it is the same system which.lemds credibility to the notion that a system is only as good as the players running it.

Niners need draft picks. Fully expect them to tank.

he seems pretty competitive, so i don't know.

that said, shanahan and lynch are pretty much a package deal and were given 7(?) year contracts so they have a lot more leeway than other coaches might to do something like that.
