Do you mean preseason game 3?  Haha.  So you think the Panthers are the better offense?  They could say the same about Shula.  Take off the Panthers goggles please.

Matt Ryan admits game 3 was the only one they were planning for. So yes, I do evaluate a little of that. While its obvious they were trying a few formations out of a sets, the routes ran are something they likely would've tried in the regular season.

Ryan and Sarkisian have game-planned only once, for the third exhibition against Arizona.

So I take that for what it is: they treated game 3 as a dress rehearsal.

However, it was a mess. Way too much mistiming, conflicting routes, and overall pretty bad playcalling. Sarkisian better fix it up. Even if you say they were just trying different formations, the timing and flow of some of his playcalls were an eye sore.

A lot to work on if they want to replicate the success Shanahan brought.

So he sucks because of the plays he called in PRESEASON? And weren't you praises his calls after the 1st game? Lol

The ones where he tried? Yes, I'm harping him for that.

And no, I never praised anyone's playcalls. Vanilla playcalling vs vanilla defense with no prior gameplan at all. I don't praise practice. I give credit when they actually try, which Sarkisian did for game 3.

So their offense is going to be the same after losing Kyle? This is a different team. Last year means nothing.

It won't be. That's for sure.

Kyle Shanahan engineered that offense. Timing and everything was in sync everytime. Sarkisian will be lucky to even replace half of that.

The rest is shouldered on whether the Falcons talent can compensate. A lot tougher task.

Matt Ryan preseason stats in 2016:

18-37 (48.6%) 0 TD's 1 INT's

(Won MVP)

Matt Ryan preseason stats in 2017:

11-20 (55.0%) 1 TD's INT's

(TBD)

Preseason literally means nothing. And saying Sark sucks because of 1 game that doesn't even count is ridiculous.

Guys the key is the offensive line. Everyone has tape on them from last year, can their oline stay together this year? That is what hurt the panthers last year. Michael Oher went and everything else went with him. Watch their oline if they stay healthy they have a chance to be good, if not bye-bye.

Sure,  you can argue it,  but I just can't see them completely falling off on offense with all those weapons.  Hope I'm wrong.

Ryan's had tons of weapons his entire career. Last year was an anomaly.

Falcons wont be the same as last year. Case in point...2016 Carolina Panthers. Everyone including me thought we are going back to the SuperBowl. We really didn't even lose anyone on offense I don't believe and we fell off.

Falcons won't make the playoffs. You can't lose like that in the SB. I don't care what they say. 28-3 will still looms over them

Even if you ignore all the SB hoopla there has to be some regression to the mean in terms of player performance, and luck with injuries. I'm curious to see the effect of Shannahan not being there,.
