YouTube TV appears to be the end all, be all to watch and record live sports. I know for a fact that if you live in the Greensboro, High Point or the Winston Salem area you can get the service. Unlike Sling, YouTube TV offers ALL 4 local affiliates (Fox, CBS, NBC, ABC). Several ESPN channels are available as well and the rest of the channel line up is pretty impressive. Fox Sports South is available for the Hornets fans. YouTube TV offers a DVR service that's included in the low price of $35 a month. My HD antennae won't pick up NBC from Greensboro, but now I don't have to worry about it. You can have 6 users on one account as well. Seems like a no brainer if you're trying to spend less on TV AND want to be able to DVR.

Throw in your zip to see if it's available in your area.

I'm not opposed to it. But I wonder if it blocks you when you try to watch from an IP that doesn't match the area the account originates from now.

According to the information from the android app, you can watch your local stations from anywhere. I'd like to read more about limitations before I commit to it.

Just to be clear, it says "Take your TV with you. Watch recorded and on-demand TV, anywhere you go in the U.S."

Maybe it doesn't let you watch live TV from anywhere.

Oh. That's a deal breaker if one doesn't live in Charlotte.

Kinda? Looks like it makes you wait until your "home" if your IP/location doesn't match the zip you put in. Probably to avoid people from outside the service area signing up. So as long as the service is available where you actually live, you're ok.

I signed up for YoutubeTV last week and it's amazing. The quality is great and I watched 3-4 college games without any buffering/hiccuping. I highly recommend it so far.

The only thing it's missing right now is better support on streaming devices like Roku and such but given how popular it's going to be I imagine that will come in time.
