First Game of the Season! Patriots vs Chiefs Thread

TL;DR

Speed, speed, speed. it doesn't matter how big you are, if they can't keep up they can't guard you.

Offensively we have speed on par with what we saw give the Pats defense trouble all night (Byrd, Samuel, McCaffrey) -- and also like KC we have the size for when the field shrinks, just see Demetrious Harris' box out TD on KC's first drive. We've seen KB do the same on several occasions, now add Olsen, and Funchess to that and teams having to worry about McCaffrey coming out the back door to receive a flat pass (similar to Hunts) in the red zone.

If our offensive staff puts all the pieces in place I think what we saw last night is a very good example of what this offense can be, and I haven't even mentioned Cam, or Stew yet. We could be looking at a special offense for seasons to come.

I haven't kept up with this thread but has anybody mentioned Cooks yet? I haven't looked at the stats but I only remember him catching one ball and drawing one INT call. All the experts talked about him all off season as if he was going to the the super star who put the Patriots on a whole new level but, at least in this game, that didn't happen.

CMC has competition. Kareem was my 2nd favorite RB behind CMC. Unreal outing by Hunt tonight.

He was one of only 2 backs coming out that had better ball security in college then CMC. I'm not really shocked about his performance, it was going to be his job in KC eventually and injuries just put the right guy on the field faster.

I thought Cooks looked good. There was good defense on a couple of his targets and Brady wasn't doing him any favors with ball placement. Still burned them for a 54 yarder at one point.  Amendola got most of the targets in place of Edelman.
