First Game of the Season! Patriots vs Chiefs Thread

If there has been a infuriating constant about the Patriots over the years, they always find a way to address their weaknesses and stay in top form. Also remember they get to play in that utterly hapless division so they have the entire season to get it right.

What's so crazy is that the Chiefs literally built up a blueprint to beat Brady.

Don't blitz him. Don't rush many men. Keep guys in coverage, force him to make the hard throws. The result is what you saw tonight.

We don't even need to sack him to kill off that offense. Chiefs D coordinator deserves huge props.

It's only a blueprint if it remains effective well past this game. Even then, I'd say it's more because maybe, just maybe father time has finally caught up to Brady.

Not holding my breath, though.

Father Time is undefeated.  I've screamed from the rooftops for months they're not winning the ring.  They've won 2 in 13 years, both via miracles.  They're very flawed this year and have actually been unlucky already with injuries, not to mention a 40 year old statue will not win 3 or 4 playoff games in Jan/Feb this year.  Will not happen.

The question is whether Father Time is finally here or whether we're just seeing things we want to see. I thought I saw the first signs of it maybe two years ago and yet, Brady kept playing at his usual clip.

I will say that if age has finally caught up to Brady, it's only going to be more apparent with each passing game. The true answer will reveal itself by the time we face them.

And bellicheck won't have any issue replacing him, unless he retires too. I think that's the day everyone is really waiting for.

CMC has competition. Kareem was my 2nd favorite RB behind CMC. Unreal outing by Hunt tonight.

Hunt is the feature back for KC already , although in general he didn't get an insane amount of carries

17 carries

5 receptions

total 22 touches . I think Stewart is still going to have the majority of RB snaps, maybe something like 60 percent to mccaffreys 40 percent.I think McCaffrey will get about 12 carries and 6 receptions for game 1 against the 49ers.  Maybe a few more carries b/c the staff are still trying to be cautious with Cams arm.

Key though is Hunt had two huge spash plays at least. I think he showed how dangerous a RB can be catching intermediate balls down the field. I think CMC seems faster and probably even more elusive than Hunt , lets not downplay our #8 pick haha. But predicting him to get over 240 yards of total offense on game 1 is dumb though, especially with Stew getting probably at least half the carries and some of the RB receptions as well I'm guessing just to keep the defense honest.

I'm telling you if CMC was the lead back he'd probably be posting some pretty nice stats as well. A whole hell of a lot is depending on Stewarts health and performance this season, if you see Stew out for multiple games again this year or his performance sharply declines, McCaffreys stats will probably skyrocket with more touches.
