Why couldn't they just play it in Atlanta or Charlotte those stadiums aren't in use this Sunday and could have avoided them losing their bye

Because the storm will likely hit one of those cities as well.  The path of this thing could take it anywhere in the East coast.

i hate buc fans but man i feel bad for them and the dolphins you're all excited about week 1 and your teams not playing . Its like being a kid a christmas and while everyone opens their gifts you have to wait for next week for yours .

If I'm a dolphins fan though I honestly don't care when I get my Jay Cutler coal.

This sucks for the Dolphins.  16 straight weeks is already a concern for player safety.  If they make the playoffs as a wildcard, and make a playoff run, they could be looking at late January before having a week off.  That is insane.

They should have held the game in another state.  Loss of revenue sucks.  Playing a game every Sunday for 5 months straight (potentially), is worse.

This is a very bad storm folks. Do y'all remember Hugo? I am hearing reports that this storm is of that caliber. Football has to take a back seat in this instance. Hell the Carolinas are starting to prepare for the worst. Hope everyone is able to get out in town

Yep. Currently looking like it may head up Savanah River after it comes back out to the Atlantic.

That's real bad news for the Carolinas in terms of percipitation.

16 straight weeks for them, and their fans have to wait even longer for their first game. Hahahaha

Sorry...but not laughing...not good for the team or players...not to mention the devastation many Florida residents are facing.  There was no good solution to this one.

How is the league not screwing them? You can say it's the best decision, sure, but don't sit there and tell me stripping away a team's bye week won't effect them. That's just a bold face lie. Teams can play in neutral places like London and Mexico but not like idk Cleveland? This Thursday? Or Saturday? Or even Sunday as the browns play away in Pittsburgh I believe.

Obviously have to move the game but the solution was not a good one

I'm just curious about how much say the teams have in the decision for how the NFL determines when/where the game will be played.

I would like to think the Dolphins would petition for the game to be delayed until a later date. It's not just the players, but the entirety of the staff, coaches, trainers, water boys, cheerleaders, those great people that scan your ticket and serve you tasty tasty beer.

All those people depend on their jobs, and some of them, more so the ones who don't make much money, the stadium support staff depend on their income from the game being played, if it's not played in Miami, they won't get paid if it's in Cleveland or some other city.

A reschedule is best for them, and everyone who had planned to be in Miami for the game.  Some John Doe from asstown Flordia who likes both teams has one chance a year to go to a game and pics this one, it's close and they know (or knew) when it was going to be played and saved money to buy tickets. Now, a hurricane is coming and you won't get to.see your teams play again because your state is about it be washed away, and they moved the game up north.

Everyoneis worried about millionaires not having a break for five months....give me a break.
