So were you born in 1995? If so you have an excuse for being a Panthers fan.

Had you not discovered football until 1995? I can possibly understand if you were 2 or 3 years of age at the time otherwise WTF.

Did you have a team that was your favorite and decide to move your loyalties to the Panthers? If so that makes you as worthless as a Cowboys fan. If you are going to be a fan be a fan and be loyal. Don't be a front runner.

For the guy that is living in North Carolina and still a Redskins fan good for him. That guy apparently knows what loyalty and fandom is about. You stick with your team through the good times, in the bad, and whether or not someone moves a football franchise into your backyard.

HTTR

If you are from NC, you are exactly the kind of pussy douche bag I can't stand. F*ck the Redskins and their fans in the Carolinas.

Its not often I take up for our fans but this is the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard. Most people have no choice but to root for another team because they dont have one in their own market to root for. Im sure if they all had a home team of their own all along they would be rooting for them instead. So I guess you're saying all the newer teams over the last 30-40 years are all bandwagon fans since they decided to root for their new home town team when they finally got one. Really that makes no sense. If someone was living in some randon state like North Dakota and was a redskins fan then suddenly switched allegences to another team then you would have a point. But switching allegences when your home city/state gets a team of their own is a totally different thing. Like I said, I think our fan base sucks and everyone here knows thats how I feel. But you couldnt be anymore wrong with that statement.

i'Mleast,

some genie didn't cross her arms and blink, then <poof>, Panther Fans appeared. They came from somewhere and yes, many used to cheer for the skins, including myself. I road-tripped to Tampa for the SB against the Raiders, too poor for tickets but I did manage to get in a bar fight with guy who tried to sell me that Plunkett was better than Theisman.

When the Panthers were announced I struggled with my decision, I'll give you that. But in my book it is the ultimate definition of "fan" to hitch your loyalties to the local expansion team and support them 100% than to try the old "second favorite" crap. Especially when I realized that the skins were force-fed to me since I was a kid. I was marketed/brainwashed into becoming a skin fan, I didn't chose them. I CHOSE to support the Panthers and drove to Clemson for the first game and haven't looked back.

I saw what Jerry Jones did to Landry. And I saw what Danny boy was getting ready to do to the skins. Then I saw Jerry Richardson, ex-player, business stalwart and all-around great guy. That made up for a lot of Tyrone Poole's. I'm a first-generation Panther fan and damn proud.

I fart in your general direction.

Same thing for me. I grew up in eastern NC and my dad was a Skins fan. I therefore, grew up a Skins fan myself. I have to admit I still have a place in my heart for the skins, but when we got the Panthers I chose to be a Panthers fan and I have been since. My kids are growing up as Panthers fans, too.

Now if we could just do something about these damn irritating Cowboys fans. They jsut won't go away. I have noticed that older Cowboy fans still pull for them but alot of their children are Panthers fans.

Obviously most of us watched football Pre-Panthers. Therefore one would have to deduce that we all had other teams.

I, for one, was a Giants fan as a kid. Didn't like the Cowboys because every retard in Oklahoma did and needed a team to beat them. That's when Parcells was there in the 80s and winning every year. Hated Simms tho. But I went with the Giants to piss of the neighbors.

Once the Panthers came around, I immediately switched to them because of the Carolina effect. I'm a huge Nascar fan and love Charlotte. It was easy for me. I was almost a drifter in the NFL until the Panthers came around. One day I hope to move to Charlotte and become a PSL holder, LMS regular, Nascar HOF president....u get the picture.

Until then tho, yes, I had another team until the Panthers. Nothing will change my Panther Fandom :D ( even fox and peppers :)

Grew up in Miami as a kid(70s)and was naturally a Dolphin fan,but I wasn't as diehard about football as I am now! When the carolinas got a team in 95,I was automatically a Panther fan and drove 3hours to Clemson to watch 2 games!I will always be a Panther fan, even if I moved across the country!Of course,I will always be a Carolina Panther fan,if in some screwed up situation(hypothetically)they moved and became the LA Panthers then it wouldn't be the same team and I would consider rooting for the Dolphins again(they still have a place in my heart)!
