Just long enough for us to get kaaya ready.

Hurneyatedmagic.

Actually, you might not be planning well if you don't have a young guy learning your system.  Not saying Kaaya is the guy, but having 2 guys in their 30's as backups is not looking toward the future for sure

If you want to credit him with managing a roster so terribly it led to the number one pick go right ahead.

Webb was the poo and Hurney kicked him in the nuts.

How do you feel about that?

I know it's Joe Person reporting and therefore possibly pregnant with stupidity but Webb was a popular guy. Not a good reason alone to keep him but I'm sure everyone saw DA stinking it up. Bad vibes.

Will players care that a previously-fired GM keeping two kickers (he's done it before) cost a popular, effective role player his spot?

This team still has tons of Hurney dudes.  We hate Hurney but the core of this team are Hurney dudes.

So yeah, they probably won't like it but this team still probably welcomes a dude like Hurney coming of G-man.

Bottom like is most players know it was abnormal that we had Webb active on Sunday's in terms of how rosters go.  So they probably hate losing him but understand

You new fans don't want to read or find out why he gave out those contracts out. So why should i explain it??

2nd everybody talks about the last 2 to 3 years but forget Hurney did everything GMan was doing his 1st 5 years as well..

What about that??

jenkins, i believe the entire OL outside of gross, minter, morgan, some punt returner out of utah, mike rucker, and the #2 overall pick in the draft that became julius peppers

^ what hurney inherited prior to "building" the 03/04 super bowl team

Hurney was working for the team 2 years before he took the GM job and was the contract man like Beane was before he left.  So yes he should get some credit for that team.. Plus he hired Fox.. oh poo and lets not forget Jake .. You know the QB with all the comeback drives.  Stephen Davis and Foster the best RB tamdem in the league that year..

I don't post with the "emotions" that some do.

Webb, Anderson, Gilbert and Kaaya would all lead us to losing seasons if Cam goes down, so, keeping one guy w experience and one guy to mentor makes sense.  I personally think Gilbert outplayed DA and Webb, but I am probably the only one.  Getting cut happens in the NFL

Hurney is causing dead money left and right. This poo would never have flied under DG.

You forgot the most important thing though. Gilbert exclusively played VS. 3's and 4's. Than we get rid of Webb and him and sign a no name to our roster to take up a spot.

Joe P reported that Hurney really likes the new QB and what he brings to the table.

So there is that.

I mean I'd hope he didn't think he sucks

I like him too. Everyone on here will feel dumb when he lights it up in the preseason and takes Anderson's job. All this said, Webb was one of my five favorite Panthers so that hurt to see him go

Oh STFU.

Norman played chicken with Dave. He lost. Not to mention he announced to hold out and demanded QB money on live TV. You don't pull that poo when you're 29 and a DB in a franchise that prominently values the front seven over the secondary.

Spin it any way you want it but Josh fired his agent.

That deserves some D. Luke style.
