loll so it's ok for DG to be cut throat and make tough personnel decisions for the betterment of the team, but the moment Hurney makes such a move, he's chastised for it?

the hypocrisy

that's debatable

also i see the point you're making but it works the exact opposite way too in the sense that i remember watching people piss their pants every time gettleman did anything similar to this.

e: and cheered the decision when he was actually reportedly fired for it

if keeping two kickers is a tough, cut-throat personnel decision for marty hurney this team is utterly doomed

Joe P reported that Hurney really likes the new QB and what he brings to the table.

So there is that.

He also was in love with Pickles.  Thank whatever God you worship that he wasn't able to give up a 1st to get him.  Something all you Cam fans should appreciate.

why is this red herring trotted out so often in sports discussions?

Perhaps because it has merit. I doubt Joe Citizen has much sympathy for any bellyaching from players over these types of issues. I certainly don't make as much money as any of the players, but I have to go do my job regardless of how I feel about personnel moves at my place of employment. I think most of our players probably have the same mindset.

I get what you're saying but this particular cut makes no sense. Webb isn't making or breaking our season but he was a very valuable player to our team.

Plus if you watched the preseason he was playing better than derek Anderson.

If any surprise vet should have been cut it should have been Anderson.

They are allowed to care. Then they are allowed to get over it and realize this is a business and to go earn their ridiculous paychecks. 95% of each of them will one day be cut as well. The rest will retire before their paycheck outweighs their talent.

Didn't we just fire a GM because he hurt people's feelings?
