Ok, one more kicker thread...then all focus on the 49ers haha

-Graham Gano's field goal percentage was 78.9%, 30/38 last season (the NFL's 27th most accurate kicker) 

-8 missed field goals (one game winner that set the tone for the season and week 17's TB abomination) and 3 missed extra points (Only Haushka, Carpenter, and Castanzaro had more misses).  

-For perspective, Nick Novak, currently a free agent, was 85.4% on 3 more attempts on the season (35/41)

Bottom line: For an NFL kicker, that is entirely unacceptable

-On a larger scope, his career percentage is actually at 79.4%.  For perspective, young guys like Parkey are around mid 80s in their early careers. Going back that early in Gano's career, he actually kicked at 68 freaking percent in Washington and was hated amongst that fanbase. The Olindo Mare experiment was 78.6% which saw him leave as quick as he came in (but even his career is at 81.9%)  

This has a Rivera decision written all over it and I don't see how it's so hard to just cut it loose.  

On the bright side...it really looks like we're just going to put him out there until he screws up and then we've got Butker.  Strangest approach I've heard of but whatever.

How big of a kick to the nuts is it going to be if we go into the season with both kickers? You wouldn't even roster two elite kickers, let alone two sorry ass kickers lol

This team is back to being a fuggin joke. I mean seriously, how fuggin hard is it to just cut Gano and roll with Butker? I call bullsh*t on this "trade interest" for our kickers, because any legit GM would have already pulled the trigger on ANY trade offer for a sorry ass kicker like Gano. Hurney getting played.

Why would that happen? Hurney wasn't the one that brought in Gano and made him a top paid kicker in this league. Hurney is also hanging onto another kicker so he can either trade Gano or kick him to the curb when the time arises.
