Come down from that ledge my friends

Recently, I deleted my Facebook account to start my day with less doom and gloom and knowledge of all the bad crap in the world and overreactions in the media. I usually start my day with a healthy dose of the huddle. I love panthers football and I'm glad it's finally time for my Sunday's to involve real football and beer again.

However, this place has become somewhat of a pit stop for doom and gloom lately. Not a lot of optimism, mostly because the fear that Hurney is out to destroy the franchise, which he may be. But You nor I have any control over that. If I remember correctly, when Kelvin went down in 2015, I was in doom and gloom mode as well as a lot of the huddle. I never expected the team to come out and run over teams the way they did. So basically, I wanted to make a thread to inspire optimism for a change. The panthers front office may be off their rocker, but the team is not. I believe Cam is ready, maybe a little rusty, but ready. I believe Luke is hungry to get back on the field and make up for lost time. I think Olsen is gonna make sure and prove his worth and go after those incentives pretty hard. Kelvin is in rookie season form after a season of going through the motion in fear of re injury. I am not sure what to expect out of our rookies but I can assure you that come Sunday, the Panthers begin a long season where at this moment everyone is 0-0. Nobody knows what to expect and nobody knows how teams are gonna perform. Just enjoy the moment that football is finally back. I have a rule at my home bar, where every time Ron smiles, we drink. Every time we score we drink. Every time we get a first down we drink. So in a nutshell, I plan on being pretty numb by games end. How about you guys? I'm excited! So I will beer every response to this thread. Here's to an awesome week one everybody!

I would have pied you but for the "he may be" out to destroy the franchise comment.

Knowing our history, and with everything that has gone on, it seems logical and rational to me to at least wait and see what we're actually dealing with before exclaiming "Bloody murder!"

I'm at the point now of saying "Jump!"

    • And we just started playing competitive football. Now look we beat a decent team. We can celebrate winning, it will be ok…
    • It doesn't matter if you give him a new WR1. To do it you have to devoted MORE resources to him. At some point you have to stop or there's nothing left for the defense. Our defense looks like scrubs because that's what we've got because we've spent a shitload on offense. He got a 1st round WR and a shiny new RB in round 2.  Bryce had a couple of good games but we are not competing against the Chiefs or Eagles. They're headed to the playoffs with realistic SB aspirations and we're headed to a top 10 pick. Those teams have competed for an entire season where the Panthers have ummm... They've almost gotten to as many wins as Matt Rhule in a season.  Would you rather have Bryce or Lamar? Because we've spent more on Bryce and to build around him than what it would have cost to trade for Lamar.  This team can't get better when it's having to devote everything to making it possible for our #1 QB god to play average NFL football.  I may end up being wrong and Bryce may become the GOAT. But one thing you won't see me doing is flip flopping on where I stand every couple of weeks because he has good or bad games. I think Bryce is our version of Daniel Jones and I think we're going to fug ourselves pretending he's Pat Mahomes.
