Unfortunately, that's what this place has become. You should've been around a few years ago, it was a lot more fun. Come on here on game day after a loss, it's unbelievable!

But anyway... Welcome aboard!!! :)

Thanks, Loses are a part of the game and they suck that is for sure, but you move onto the next week. At least that is what I do and I know that is what the Coaches and Players do. I have been a fan since the beginning as I am an Old Lass so I have seen the ups and down years. There is a reason why it has been so long since there was a perfect season because it is really difficult to accomplish and the Panthers almost did it recently.

Which Gettleman was doing the last 4 years.

Gettleman walked into a situation where he had a once in a generation type talent at QB entering his 3rd season and one of the best young middle linebackers in the league. He had a very solid core to work with and yet he failed to bring in a few pieces to surround the core to earn back to back winning seasons.

Do you know how pathetic that is? We have Devin f*cking Funchess as our 2nd WR. Cam carried this offense to a SB that had Philly Brown as one of the regular WR's, Philly Brown can't even make the freaking Buffalo Bills!

Now again, I don't want Hurney here but we deserve A LOT better than Dave Gettleman who always seemed content going halfway in and if we won cool, if not whatever. 2015 was special, and Gettleman's big add was a 57 year old Jared Allen? Do we need to go over what we had a WR again that year?

This team's greatest weapon is Cam Newton. This organizations goal every year should be finding the best WR's to put around him and sit back and watch. They are making it way more complicated than it has to be. And stop with the whole Gettleman and building for the future bs, the fat man just overspent on Captain Munnerlyn and signed Peppers and Mike Adams.

couldn't agree more. It seems like Gettleman was more interested in managing the CAP than adding key pieces necessary to make a strong push every year. Sure in the beginning that was necessary, but even after we were sitting pretty well with the CAP, he was still dumpster diving looking for cheap FA's and rescinding franchise tags on all pro talent, or trading up to get Devin Funchess and drafting guys like Tre Boston and Bene Benwikere.

I'm not saying he was a bad GM, but people on the huddle literally make it seem like he was a god here and could do no wrong. Even when it was obvious he made a bad personnel decision, people on this board would still find anyway to justify the move.

cant think of another business owner who would allow their GM to crash the business, then fire that GM... then hire that same GM again...

i'm thinking of some other business doing this and it's hurting my brain

imagine burger king firing all their advertising people and rehiring the firm that came up with herb

Maybe I understanding this wrong, but the Panthers Regular Season record since existence is 172-179-1 and Post Season is 9-7. Other than 3 seasons in 1998, 2001, and 2010 where they had horrible records they had mostly mediocre records. Throw in a few years of having above average records in 1996, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2013, and the fantastic record in 2015. I really think the inconsistency the team has shown over the years to not put together a string of great seasons is what concerns me the most and the mediocrity of most of the seasons. I can easily see that being the bottom 33% being turning around quickly with a string of good seasons. Will that happen I don't know. They have to stop with the mediocre 6-10, 7-9, and 8-8 records.

You are correct, but when compared to the rest of the NFL's W/Ls since 1995 the Panthers are in the bottom 1/3. That to me is an issue...that is not even mediocrity. I don't want to hope to be in the middle...I expect more. When you're owner sends you a letter saying sorry, I didn't know it was going to be this bad...then goes back to the reason for the letter, yea I have a problem with that.

I don't really see JR as a part of the Panther team I root for and love. I see him as a meddling owner who should just leave things alone, atherefore I have no problem saying I am not behind JR 100%. Positive talk comes from positive action. People say it's easy to complain but it's not, especially about my favorite team. It's hard to see it being taken apart and just sit around and say oh well and not say anything. THAT's easy.

I have to be critical of them. Now bad things happening from the unknown or failing because we took a chance I will never be bitter towards, that's not JRs style,  we are LITERALLY going back in time, to a dark place width the same personnel. It's asinine and I will speak negatively of it. I'm not going to blindly be ok and support that crap I mean really. Always support and root for my team but the higher ups who care about other things than winning are incompetent.

That said, we are all fans here and choose to express ourselves in any way we want. And that freedom is more important and above all. No such thing as real or fake or fickle fans. We all just express fanhood differently. I have no problem with anyone who loves JR and all he does to the team, as long as they root for the team to win on Sundays.

I agree with you that most if not all Owners should sit back and let the Football people make the football decisions. The mediocrity of the team since they have started with the exception of some great years and some really poor years has to change as well and that comes with consistency which the Panthers have not had. That being said if they get the right Football People in place this football team could have that string of success. They have a great core of play makers in Cam, Olsen, KB, and McCaffrey. They just need to build around that.

The thing with being overly critical in my opinion is what does it really accomplish other then get you even more stirred up over the fact that what you are being critical about isn't going to change. Also what I am saying that I am seeing on here is all I am seeing is 90 some percent negative and hardly any percent positive. Being a fan sure you should be able to vent with things you don't see eye to eye  about, but where are the positive remarks about the team. They are few and far between and that isn't right in my book. The way I usually vent is I'll say my piece and then let it go because keeping it going and knowing it ultimately won't accomplish a thing gets me even more worked up. That is just me. I will never criticize a person for there views unless their facts are totally wrong because anyone is entitled to what they believe. So I'm not disappointed at all that I joined this forum and have enjoyed it here reading the comments here and posting when I feel the need and I will continue to do so.

Injuries definitely hurt us bad, but going into the season with a CB corps consisting nearly entirely of rookies was definitely a mistake.

I'd add coaching to the list.

It's easy to forget that a lot of those games we won in 2015 were quite nearly lost in the second half. In more than one case, we held off big comebacks only because we'd built up solid leads early.

We weren't so lucky last year.
