Thinking about moving to Alaska...

And there are (quite literally) 10 men for every woman. It's so bad, my 60-year old aunt in Alaska is dating a 35-year-old dude. It's a great place for women to move to, but if you're looking for any kind of action with someone not named Jackie Palmer, you're heading towards dire straits.

Anchorage is the best if you ask me. Big city small town feel but you have plenty of stuff to keep you entertained.

You dont lose your women just your turn. Anchorage is a good midsize city think the population is around 280,000. Fishing is great up there and plenty to do if you like the outdoors. Starting in early june IIRC salmon start running and you have until midaugust until they IIRC but you have king salmon run first then red salmon then the Silver Salmon run. Its a great way to spend your time and enjoy the scenerio just be warned you wont be alone when fishing. I have been elbow to elbow at times fishing which is a pain. But if you can go where others dont its great.

In the winter it can get depressing unless you keep active. Get a snow machine and go riding its great fun and again the scenery cant be beat. Also you can icefish in the winter, ski or snowboard, crosscountry skiing, or if you get into the right bunch of people dogsledding. Or do like me in the winter and go out to the bars. They have some good ones up there.

    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
    • The lack of production is especially surprising given how much effort the team put into coaxing the best from him.  In just six short years he’s had the opportunity to work with 3 different GMs, 7 different head coaches and 10 different starting quarterbacks.  There’s literally no excuse to be made that one of those combos didn’t work.  It might be time to look withIAN.
