Three reasons the Panthers could lose to the 49ers

I'm nervous about this game.  It will absolutely set the tone for the season.  The Panthers live and die on momentum.  Starting the season with a loss will be a really problem IMO.

Cam needs a good game of short and medium passes with a high completion percentage with lots of running to keep the pressure off him.  If we can do that and come away with a W then the season could be really special, but a loss can really be disastrous.

We do NOT need Cam trying to rip bombs in the 4th quarter to try and pull out a win.  That shoulder will need a few more weeks to get me comfortable with that.

If we lose I don't want to hear poo about the reason being we have two kickers on the damn roster. That's weak sauce and just another excuse to throw an unnecessary jab at Hurney. Game shouldn't come down to a kick and if it does maybe we should examine other areas of the roster as to why we were relying on a kicker in the first place. Whether the replacement kicker is already on the roster or not those guys know they have the shortest rope on the team, they're always under pressure to perform. The Bucs didn't carry two kickers and put all their support into one guy and at the end of the day same fuging result.

Two reasons the Panthers will lose: 

#1) The defenses soft zone coverage will get roasted by Kyle Shanahans relentless quick post play calling. He destroyed the Panthers with it while he was with Atlanta.

#2) Cam isn't 100% obviously, so the 49ers commit to stopping the run. The offensive line struggles to pass block, and a rusty and not fully healthy Newton struggles to beat the 49ers with his arm.

Honestly this game is a toss up. I sense the Panthers lose a close game.

This game will be closer than people think. Shannhan is a good coach and we don't have any tape on how his 9ers team will be run. 9ers might be bad by years end but right now they have all the confidence in the world. 

 

Biggest key for me is for us to jump out to an early lead, run the ball effectively, and win the turnover battle. 

I'd rather Cam throw for 200 yards and 1 touchdown with 0 picks than for him to go 450 yards 3 TDs and 3 picks.

 

 

also for the love of god, don't call any designed runs for him for the first two weeks at least

Did you watch preseason with our new coordinator? The first string wasn't playing "soft zone coverage".

Best case scenario is Gano struggles like he does the first couple of games but doesn't cost us wins. Is blown out and the Rook has some early late game success bolstering his confidence as we head into the meat of the season.

When Ron's job is on the line, and it very well could be this year, Ron has shown he's willing to roll the dice. I think we'll see him take the kinds of chances that earned him his nickname.
