Destiny 2

So IB is back and power matters.  I'm 501 and it's HARD.  I still do manage to get most of the kills I want, but I do also have a fair number of near misses on 520+ folks.  But it's fun again, which I really enjoy.

I can't wait to jump more into it.  I need to finish my Dreaming City key and continue to work my power up.  It's just hard with my limited time frame to play.

Tried IB a little. Had a blast. The light level makes it interesting, and you feel ALMOST as powerful as you do in PVE (not entirely, but as close as you can make it feel for PVP). Of course I went in at 535 so I was higher than a LOT of people in IB. Then again, my KDR was roughly the same as in a typical Crucible match so I did no better or worse, the feel of it is just better IMO.

The Last Wish raid dropped. Haven't tried it yet. For those that didn't know, the first team through completed it in 18 hours. 3rd place was Datto's crew...and they missed the 24 hour limited emblem by 2 minutes. Heart breaker because they got stuck for SO long in the final encounter.

Week 3 also saw a new strike, Gambit map and a new ascendant challenge which was easier than last weeks, but still it was a challenge and a fun one at that. FINALLY got my 2nd seed of light (after I'd guess at least 10 rounds of tier 2 blind well....) so I finally got the Warlock solar class unlocked. 542 light and climbing with the weekly reset coming.

Gambit is still the most fun game mode and the new map is interesting. Still think the first map is the best but that may be because it is the easiest (not nearly as many challenges with it, as I fall off the edges of several of the other maps waaaay too often or I run out of space when trying to slay for motes and just get overwhelmed because randoms absolutely suck at spreading out and attacking at once).

This game is entirely too fun now. Literally all my gaming time is just Destiny 2 and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. This is the game I wanted from the start.

So my buddy convinced me to pick up Foresaken. I played vanilla destiny 1 but lost interest in it quickly. This is the first time I’ve had fun playing it consistently, just finished Osiris and Warmind this week and leveling up and doing adventures to get some new gear before moving on to Foresaken.

Who has it for Xbox?

Believe me, just hit your recommended level for Forsaken because you'll get drops for days and they'll be far better. You'll fly up real fast. End game grind is enjoyable. The lore actually continues building in the end game content too, so you're actually invested. It gets nuts.

If anybody has pieced together the lore for Dreaming City...am I right?

I'm on Xbox - Dionysusfiend though my play times are erratic.  I LOVE Forsaken so much!  I think you can start Forsaken at like 330 power, so it shouldn't be too horrible to get up there.  If you get stuck, just do your planetary bounties, Strike and Crucible bounties.  You'll level up super quickly.

Check out some of the latest videos by My Name is Byf and Myelin Games.  The are putting together a LOT of the lore.  The story of Mara Sov is so f'ing excellent.  I am so excited for the future lore of Destiny, that's for sure!

Has anyone done the raids other than the Leviathan raid? I'm trying to decide if the other raids are worth a whole Saturday.

I guess if it depends on your level and what you need.  If you are under 400, then sure.  If you need a midnight coup, go for it.

Unless they do something to level them up, you probably won't see the older raids getting a lot of love.

I hate how busy I've gotten with work and everything.  I just don't have time for anything anymore =(

But Festival of the Lost is back, and looks cool.  Have fun in the Haunted Forest =)

I'm light level 520ish

And you have to prioritize this poo! lol nah I deal with the same thing. I mostly play Overwatch because I can get a fix in 30 mins or less. Destiny requires a lot of grinding and takes too much of my time. I stopped playing for almost a full year but got the expansion and quick leveled with my friends. I also gave my kid more video game time to level me up

LOL, I make my kid do patrols and bounties when he plays my characters =)

Oh, if y'all can go to reddit, there's a thread there with a Spoiler Tag, but it's about Eris Morn, a new collapse, and how Mara Sov and the Awoken play their part.  It's a bit spinfoily, but man...I read it this morning and I had to just stop and think and let all those implications flow over me.  Holy poo on a stick.

If this is true, the long term writing for Destiny and it's universe is truly amazing!  Talk about cinematic!  It sucks the game sucked for so long at storytelling.  I feel like it's really starting to get better.  The indepth lore is SO AMAZING!  Now I want to make a movie about it, and it wouldn't suck!
