Anyone playing on PC?  I keep seeing the high frame rate videos, and man, it looks smooth and fast.  It makes me really want to build a PC just for that buttery smoothness.  I just lack the money for a PC, and the time to get "gud" on PC with M&K.  I'll keep poking along on my xbox one =)  I can't wait til family stops visiting so I can get a raid going!

I hear you man.  I keep thinking about going PC then $$$ brings me back to earth.  Money seems to be allocated to thinks like the utility bill and other grown-up stuff.  Seriously,  willing to help you out with the Raid.  I know my group is going to try tonight.  We may be down a few guys though.  If we don't have guys we can pick up we'll go the guided games route.  I think that's an option for the raid and nightfall.

Well, color me excited for this!   I know many will want a new raid (I still need to make time to play the raid, period), so the new "raid activities" will be interesting to see what that becomes.

My main excitement is for the regular player - new places, new gear, new (and old) enemies to kill.

I doubt they will have all the investment stuff worked out, but for at least a short bit, this should be a fun diversion!  I've really enjoyed the writing thus far, and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the story items unfold.

Anyone playing on PC?  Thoughts?

Heya guys!  Long time no post.  I've been super busy with work, and frankly, Destiny 2 hasn't seemed as fun.

It's fun to get in there and shoot dudes.  But the drive to do so has been kind of diminished, even as my really pathetic playtime.  Never done a nightfall, or raid, or trials.  Just a super casual guy, but I see that the "end game" is so short, I'm kind of like "well, whatever!"  My clan feels the same.  We want to play, but why for?

Well yesterday, Bungie canceled their stream and instead told the community what they were doing to try to improve the investment game.  They also stated, importantly, that they were going to transition to this investment approach to keep people playing.  It's a pretty good read, a little lengthy.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/46504

They also recorded a podcast Monday:

So while my hype for Osiris has cooled a bit, I think they will work to make some meaningful improvements so that the playtime (which is fun) has more value for the user.  I still think the Curse of Osiris story will be good, they've been doing pretty well with that thus far.  I say this as someone who has enjoyed the D1 story, and who thinks that it kept getting better.  TTK was a HUGE improvement, RoI was not as good (but still much better than Dark Below), and D2 was a really fun if predictable and safe story.

I played for a while on release but finally just went back to Rocket League. Honestly, that silly little car game has had the most depth of progression I have ever seen in any video game, simply because the skill ceiling is ridiculously high and the only limit is your own mechanical and strategic limits. In comparison to all my time I spent grinding up in Destiny 1 and 2, the satisfaction factor simply isn't there for me anymore as the endgame is just better gear to kill the same enemies with. Whereas in RL, nothing can compete with the sensation of collecting that virtual ball and watching the entire opposing team rush back to their goal in a panic, terrified of what insane mind-melting way you're going to score on them next.

Hey y’all I know I’m a bit late to he show but I picked this up a few weeks back and am on at random times due to work/school.

Loving it so far, I know there have been a lot of complaints but I feel like Destiny 2 is a huge improvement over destiny 1 so far.

lvl 317 hunter so far. Not ran the raid yet.

What kills me about D2 is that in the moment, it can be a fun game.  Killing aliens is super fun.  But when you look at the why, that's where it dies for me.  Why do I really care about doing strikes?  Milestones?  PVP?  There isn't for me.

I couldn't get enough of D1.  I worked every week to try to get that god rolled gun or getting the multiple variations of T12 gear (which I did on my titan, I could mix and match T12 by the end of last summer).  There just seemed to be more to chase.

In D2, I really love the campaign, the missions, the voice acting, the production of it all.  I could play through things a bit, walk way and be happy.  There's just not a drive to come back, and when I do, I keep thinking about how I'd rather play other games.  Do I need a 15th Urial's Gift?  I've found myself using the same weapons over and over, despite all the vault raiding I've done getting out all my legendary items.  I keep getting stuck using the same weapons because they are just better than the others.

In PVP, unless you run in a team, it's going to be a different kind of fight.  I really miss the days of shotgun warriors, stupid crazy snipes, and VOOPing.  I mean, by the end of D1, I had worked my way up to a 1.0 KD player (though I think my overall was still a .8 or something).  I LOVED going to the crucible to see what I could learn.

I go into PVP in D2, you get team shot.  You set up with your team, then you get flanked and team shot.  I just don't feel like I have a chance to get better as a player.

D2 is an overall better game on many levels, but the most recently repeated criticisms about the power fantasy, the gear grind, and the lack of hero moments in D2 ring really hard for me right now.  And heck, I MISS titan skating...SO F'in' much!

I look forward to the upcoming changes and developments in D2 over time.  I know Bungie is going to work hard to fix D2, but I just can't get that into playing anymore.

On the positive side, I've picked up photography as a hobby =)

I got a T5i before Thanksgiving.  I've been taking mostly family photos and stuff I find around.  I'm just trying to learn how bad of a photographer I am so I can figure out how to suck less.  I keep kind of fantasizing about getting a full frame camera like a used 5D (OG or mark II) as they can be had for $500 ($800 for the mark 2) compared to buying a more up to date crop sensor.

The 50mm/1.8 is a great little lens.  On our crop sensors, it's almost a good portrait lens.  I've gotten some really nice pictures with that lens.

Right now I'm debating, I really want a 70-200mm.  The Canon L f/4 is a good starting point for $500-600, but I've also been checking out the Tameron and Sigma lenses too.

Have you tried shooting raw and playing with that in edit?  I am lucky in that I have a work creative cloud account so I've been able to work in lightroom.  I am blown away by what I can get out of a raw file compared to a jpeg.
