Hurney didn't sign Adams...

Different GM signed Adams. Could be that it's Hurney who wants to go younger.

Yea I'm aware of that, doesn't change the fact that signing Ward would be going younger.  We sure as hell don't have any youth already on the team that is inspiring, and there's not going to be anything in FA that's going to blow their socks off.  The first opportunity to actually put a youth movement at S into action would be the draft, and we all hope Hurney won't be the one in charge of that anyway.  TB is reportedly signing him to a 1 year $5mil contract.  We could easily match or beat that by a mil and still start the youth movement with the next draft, all while not affecting our chances of re-signing Star or Norwell like so many were getting their panties in a bunch about.

All I here is excuses. Firstly, like somebody said earlier, signing Ward WOULD HAVE made us get younger at the SS position as Mike Adams is fuggin old as sh*t. Secondly, we STILL could have went the youth movement as it was only a one year signing. We aren't developing anybody worth a damn this year anyway. Ward would have made this defense WAY better THIS YEAR. This team loves the status quo.

I think with the state that the SS position the Panthers have right now the Front Office should have pushed harder for Ward. Definitely going 1 year 6 million if that would have gotten it done than do it as Ward would have been a HUGE upgrade at that position. Well it didn't happen and we are off to start the season with what we have and I do think that is still a pretty darn good team, but it could have been made much better with just a little harder push by the Front Office.

Going into the season with Mike Adams and Colin Jones as SS makes me so uneasy. Ward would have been the ultimate signing, and he didn't even cost that much. *sigh*
