TJ Ward Narrows Down To Three Teams. Two Of Them Are Panthers And Steelers, With Panthers Making Strongest Push

Ok but don't rant and rave if a player we currently have ends up walking to a bigger contract because we signed a 30 year old strong safety with hamstring issues. Like norwell for instance, and then our line turns to poo again when Marty hurney drafts another amini in the second round to replace him.

People always want it both ways. Which is impossible to do with the salary cap. There will always be holes somewhere

If we win the ring I'm ok losing Norwell.  He's a guard.  I want to keep him too, but Cam and Luke should be the only sure things here.  I actually prefer Star over Norwell as well.

But you can't just say if we win a ring..nobody knows if this move puts us over the top and in fact I would say that it more than likely doesn't. If cam is one of the only sure things then don't you wanna make sure the line is secure for his future?

Listen I'm not saying that I'm right, a lot of this stuff is just it's but people that say stuff like free fua annoy the crap out of me because it's so short sighted. And then he goes absolutely ape poo about us not being able to protect cam. When our interior has been the only consistent part of our offensive line. And even with all that said, if the deal is good then good! I'd love to have him on this team. But not at the expense of other things.

We have Adams SS, Jones, SS

Coleman FS.

We need a SS?

absolutely.

adams has been slow and not particularly effective. colin jones is fast, but really that just helps him get to the wrong place quicker than most.

with the CB pickup today and the loss of sanchez, i think we're pretty good at corner. coleman is a pretty decent FS. SS is the only weak spot. were we to pick up ward, there would not be a weak link in this defense.

I like Norwell as well, but push comes to shove I think Moton looked more than adequate at LG for the future. We have a front seven that's primed to dominate this season, we can't be having gaping holes on the backside.

It seems like the people always harping about salary cap never wants to sign anyone. What's the point of having the money if you don't want to spend it.

So the logic on Ward is that we shouldnt sign him because we may not be able to sign Norwell NEXT year?  Really.

With out cap space. That did take some very unthoughtful hits. Including Lee.

There is no reason we should give ward more than two or three mil on a two/four year deal. Give him a nice signing bonus and chill.

Got to make smart contracts.

A lot of teams who've taken the "win it all this year and screw the future" approach... didn't, and wound up screwed for several years thereafter by the choices they made.

Not a road I wanna go down, especially with Marty Hurney driving the car.

The Broncos did it, and, won Super Bowl 50.  Dammit.
