So make it a 4 year 5M contract with 10 gtd and last 2 years voidable? I think that'd be doable and still sign Norwell. Star is gone in that scenario though.

I'd rather have Norwell and Star. Both KK and Turner are going to have a drop off if their drafting partners are lost. I'd rather keep those two units intact. And we have to start thinking about a long term safety in both slots, a center and a tight end(that could even give us half the production of Olsen.)

Pure speculation..

We need to make sure we go into the season with $20,000,000 unspent. You know for a rainy day, like after having a losing season.

Sure would be nice to have with all these contracts set to come up. Do you spend every dime from your paycheck right before the next one? Why would you want your team ran like that?

That's what happens when you resign a 58 year old LB to and a TE who was already under contract.... Gotta make sure the owner is happy though

Bingo, though hasn't happened...it will.

I mean is there a team with a worse record than 6-10 closer to the cap? That's what bugs me, the fact we're 'all in' to win now cap wise but are god awful as a team. Then add in up coming contracts...and Hurney of all people dealing with them. What a fuging mess. This mess is usually the result of winning.

Exactly! You gotta both spend what you have and try not to morgage your future to do it.

First Hurney go round he almost got us a ring but screwed us into Cap hell.

Dave saved us in the Cap but arguably didn't try hard enough to sure up weak spots. I could attribute our recent losing seasons to him not filling holes with the money we had to spend.

Hopefully Hurney learned from his mistaue and finds a way to straddle that line by not putting us in future Cap hell or letting positions be weak without trying to fix it.
