Hurney is simply using a marketing skeme.. he's tryna raise their value for a potential trade

In 2007, we signed one guy...one. Deke Cooper. Remember him?  No reason why you should.

In 2004, we signed three, none of whom were any good.

If you look at other years, you'll find a few additional cases where half the guys we signed contributed nada.

This notion that Hurney was a good roster builder who plugged holes and kept a competitive roster just doesn't hold up.

If you still doubt that, just take a look back at the win loss record of Hurney's teams. A good roster builder doesn't boast only three competitive seasons out of eleven.

Well, he wanted a power rushing attack.  Ironic thing is that the team didn't really do much to promote a powerful rushing attack until 2008, and by that time, Delhomme was done.

Thats mostly a myth imo.  Maybe in 2010 JR told the GM to get ready for a lockout, but other than that, Hurney was GM.

What glaring holes did we have in those years? We were pretty loaded in 2004 and IIRC, in 2007, he addressed the safety issue by trading for Chris Harris.
