You know that's not how it goes around here or will go. The truth is that the GM we need is a combination of Hurney and Gettleman. One is too far left and the other too far right. But the consistent bitching about Hurney on this board is fuging annoying.

Where can we find this Hurntleman? We need a GM that's about 70% Gettleman and 30% hurney. Then we'd be golden

You remember the names Sione Fua and Terrell McClain?

Several seasons of Kris Mangum starting at TE?

A competent number two receiver not named Muhsin Muhammad?

Any of this ring a bell?

My point is that Hurney addressed our needs (though some were crap). DG's draft philosophy was one of his biggest downfalls.

Back then TE's weren't a huge part of most NFL offenses.

Don't be slamming KM.   Fox wanted TE's that could block, and maybe be a safety valve for a pass every now and then.  Come to think of it, that seemed to be all he wanted out of the second receiver as well.   In other words, they didn't consider it a hole.

Were you here for any of the offseasons when Hurney signed no UFAs at all?

Literally, none.

I'm afraid we're playing chicken to get a better deal.

My worry is that blowing up in our faces.

Granted, John Fox treated offense as an afterthought.
