Yes it was a bad trade. Doesn't mean you cut the guy when you are already on the hook to pay him this year. That's almost as dumb as making the trade in the first place.

Hurney has no equity here, he was fired for a decade long reasons and it is completely reasonable to suspect he all of a sudden isn't a great GM and will do what he has always done, treat the team as family and make JR happy.
 

No need to blame Hurney or Ron or Fox past GMs, players or coaches...JR calls the shots, not them. Has always been this way EXCEPT with Gettleman. If you don't believe that you're a newer fan, it's cool.

I see the person attacks still haven't been cleaned up here at the huddle. So much for instant banning.  

I can argue without insulting.  So let's see...bottom line, he did not add value as an older punter making 4 million a year, playing only a handful of games.  How many 40+ punters are currently playing in the NFL?  I don't know any, but I'm sure you can rattle off a list of 5-10 since it is so common.  There was not a huge difference in camp or preseason between Lee and Palardy.  This was a coaches decision.  Ron makes these calls.  He and his staff observed both of their performances.  They decided what Lee offered wasn't enough value to justify paying him what he was making when we have to sign Norwell and Star.

We do next season. A good chunk of Lee's salary would have been guaranteed for next season had he been on the roster this year...from my understanding.  I could be wrong though.

As a long time fan, however, I know what's coming...I think we all do.

No....I'm saying that's what it would take for his actions today to set us back 10 years.  That's what the original post said.  Butch said that today Hurney will be setting us back 10 years.  I'm not defending Hurney.  Never have.  Just made a clear statement that I seriously doubt anything he does today will set this franchise back 10 years.

Lololol I hope that if one of y'all ever fug up at your job you receive better treatment than Hurney has received.

He's being ostracized for past mistakes and could have possibly learned from them.

Hurney hasn't done anything wrong since being named interim. But hey, if cutting Andy Lee and Joe Webb set us back 10 years then we were never good to begin with.
