Gano Misses Another

Butker has been perfect in the games though, so why not give him a shot at that 51 yarder if it's an actual competition?

Because Ron didn't want a competition to begin with. He shot the "competition" down early on saying that there was much more of a competition at punter than kicker. Ron had already handed Gano the job and yet Gano continues to prove why he doesn't deserve it.

You should absolutely care that he's also bad

Still hasn't missed in a game setting. I don't care that Gano looks godly in practice. He sucks during the games. Delhomme looked like dog poo in practice too, but the guy was a gamer. Maybe Butker is the same way. I don't know, all I know is that I've seen enough from Gano to know that this guy fuging sucks and he'll miss every pressure kick that we send him out there for.

I don't get what his deal is. He was actually a decent kicker for a time and now he's complete ass.

Would rather we just let Webb or Olsen do FG and save the roster spot.

We're gonna have to blow everyone out.

He got paid.

There have been loads of free agents whose performance has gone to hell after they got paid, but in my years of watching the NFL, it seems the position where it happens most frequently is kicker.

Paying a kicker is the quickest path to killing his career.

I have zero confidence in Gano to make anything with the game on the line. I haven't seen enough from Butker to be confident in him but I also haven't seen anything from him to doubt him. Riot says he's been bad in practice and I believe him, but Gano is bad in games so it's not like giving Butker a chance could be any worse than what Gano is doing now

What does Ron even do? Ron doesn't even want to make hard personnel decisions. Byrd has a big first pre-season game, but proceeds to play less at WR in game 2 and 3, but more on ST to limit competition

Meanwhile, Shepard probably skip right on to the starting 4

How do you explain how good he's been in the games though? Like I said, some guys are great in practice and some guys don't shine until they're under the lights. How do you know unless you give him a chance?

This. I'm fine if neither of these guys is our kicker on opening day in SF, but if it has to be one of the two, I'd rather give Butker a chance than a known horrible commodity in Gano.

Bro....you can't tell me a dude who looks like complete ass in practice is the answer. I get you think he's your Gano savior but he's not. Moving on from Gano isn't the goal - finding a good kicker is. They're both garbage.

To be fair, Delhomme used to look like ass in practice.

It's like once he gets a personnel decision in his head, there's no reverting on it despite any mountains of evidence right in front of him.

Gano has to be worried right now.

I bet he's the kicker with everything being said. Ron probably don't really care that much about his pre season fallout and will give him a chance to play another regular season . Butker was a token move to try to make Gano better.
