Let this be your last spelling corection on the huddle.

Fair enough. That one just really bothered me more than most.

More on topic, the thought of Hurney sticking around leaves an awful taste in my mouth. I think 11-5 or better is definitely doable for this team this season.

First Quarter (at SF, Buffalo, Saints, at New England): 3-1.

I think we're going to start 2-0, and we should handle the Saints at home. If we don't, we rebound in New England.   The Panthers get an uncharacteristic good start this year.

Second Quarter (at Detroit, Philly, at Chicago, at Tampa): 2-2

Detroit is going to be a tough game. Likewise the Eagles. I'm pretty sure we beat the Bears, and we may beat Tampa.  However, I think we drop a couple in this stretch.

Third Quarter (Falcons, Dolphins, at Jets, at Saints): 3-1

We may drop the Falcons, we may drop the Saints. We won't drop both. Neither the Dolphins nor the Jets scare me a bit.

Fourth Quarter (Vikings, Packers, Bucs, at Falcons): 3-1

We typically play our best football in December, and that continues. Atlanta looks tough, so does Green Bay at home. Vikings at home look surprisingly hard if they have an offense, but they won't. Still, we are playing our best football this point and have three home games. I could easily see us going 4-0 down this stretch, particularly if the Falcons collapse like we all hope they do.

The Panthers go 11-5 or 12-4 this year, it is an odd one after all.

Week 1 @ 49ers:

im not underestimating this game, nor am i underestimating our hunger and talent. im with OP. Thinking it will be a close win overcoming some rust and adversity. This game will remind us of the opener @Jacksonville in 2015. we certainly didnt look like a 15-1 club that day, but look what happened.

1-0

Week 2 vs Bills:

With the Bills seemingly in Full Dumpster Fire mode, i see this as a handily won game. margin 14+.

2-0

Week 3 vs Saints:

Hard to predict. we have been winning close games at home against the Saints as of late. i think we are 3 of 4 against them in BoA the past 4 years.

3-0

Week 4 @ Pats:

Also hard to predict. The Pats will be legit. but the Panthers have always played up to their competition. I think we lose, but i think it literally comes down to the last drive.

3-1

Week 5 @  Lions:

also with OP here. win. very simply. i think this will be a "day at the office" type of game. wont be spectacular. wont be alot of reason for negativity either. This game may remind us of the Titans game in 2015. Pull away late against an inferior opponent in an away contest. i wonder if there will be Detroit Moms complaining about Cam's pelvic gyrations afterward.

4-1

Week 6 vs Eagles TNF:

Fun Fact: the last two times we have played the Eagles, it has been in Primetime. This will be the third in a row (MNF in 2014 *shudder*, SNF in 2015, and TNF this year). Both teams have gotten better this offseason, but with my homer glasses firmly affixed to my face, i believe the Panthers have gotten moar bettah than the Eagles have. Close win under the lights, starting to make a statement.

5-1

Week 7 @ Bears:

In the words of the corrupt Theron in 300, "This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this." Win.

6-1

Week 8 @ Bucs:

I know some people think the Bucs are gonna be the same ol' Bucs this year, and yes Bucs definitely gonna Buc. But they're at home. They definitely have more talent than they did last year. Im with OP that i think this is the year the Bucs start to become a thorn in our side even when we are good (last year doesnt count, both teams sucked lol). I think the Bucs find a way to squeak out a win in front of their home crowd, though i do hope the opposite proves true and we rub their faces in their own terrified diarrhea stains.

6-2

Week 9 vs Falcons:

Smarting from a division loss, at home, with perhaps an opportunity to take a virtual 2 game lead in the division (ATL will have played the following schedule and will probably have a 5-2 record: @CHI, vsGB, @DET, vsBUF, vsMIA, @NE, @NYJ), and still pizzed off that they ran the table on us last year. Sounds like a recipe for a win in Carolina. Might be a close game since i do think the Falcons will fight hard to avoid the hangover, but we do earn a win against our bitter division rival.

7-2

Week 10 vs Dolphins MNF:

This is an opponent that the Panthers cannot underestimate. The Dolphins dont have as much talent as the Panthers, but they have enough that they could shock us for a win in our own house. We have never won against the Dolphins in BoA. That needs to change this year. i think it does, in another win that will be alot closer than it ought to be.

8-2

Week 11 @ Jets:

This is one of those games that you almost dont want to talk about for the atrocities that will be committed against the Jets that day....

9-2

Week 12 @ Saints:

I dunno. i just dont know. i dont fugging know. The Saints always fight us tooth and nail in their house (except in 2014 when they rolled over and let us do whatever we wanted to their lifeless bodies.) The Saints are better than they were in 2014. Hell, they're better than they were in 2016. But so are we, on both counts. I really feel like, as per usual, this game comes down to the last drive. But i think we sneak out with a hard fought win. This game will remind Panthers fans of our game against the same team in 2015. and given our record after the game, optimism will be very high among fans.

10-2

BYE

Week 14 vs Vikings:

I just dont have confidence this will be the same Vikings team we saw last year. I dont think they will be able to match punches with our offense. Dont know much about their defense, but i highly doubt it is as good as ours. Following our game with the Falcons, Atlanta plays the following schedule: vsDAL, @SEA, vsTB, vsMIN. Its conceivable that, including our matchup in BoA, the Falcons may be on a 5-game collapse, with their record sitting at 6-7. even if they win against the Bucs and Vikings, they wont be putting too much pressure on us with an 8-5 record while we sit at 10-2. thats essentially a 3-game lead with our previous head-2-head win and only 3 games following this one to play. I really think this game shapes up like the Detroit game earlier in the season. just a day at the office with nothing spectacular to see but nothing horrid to worry about either. Win.

11-2

Week 15 vs Packers:

This may be the marquee NFC matchup of the year for us. I think the hype will be similar to our cross-conference game against the Pats early in the season. My guess is that the Packers will walk into BoA touting 9-11 wins just like we will. Unlike us though, i dont think they will be under any pressure in their division by this late point in the season. i dont think the Falcons will be pressing us too hard either, but our 2 game lead will be more precious to us than what may be a 4 game lead for the Packers in their division. i think this will be a Mayweather/McGregor matchup. it will go 10 of 12 rounds, before one side tires out and just cant keep up anymore. I think the Panthers will be the McGregor in this match.

11-3

Week 16 vs Bucs:

Feeling that loss to the Packers and the one the Bucs will give us earlier in the season, I think the Panthers will come home to smack the Bucs in the face despite winning the division by virtue of a Falcons loss to the very same Bucs the week before. but the Bucs may be pressing for a playoff spot. I think the Bucs come to fight, but end up falling short.

12-3

Week 17 vs Falcons:

I believe the Falcons will come into this game with 9 wins and in contention for the playoffs. The Bucs will be nipping at their heals with 8 wins and a split in their series. My gut tells me this will be a loss. The Panthers may rest starters for the playoffs while the Falcons will be fighting to remain in contention. Things change if we lose to the Bucs the week before. we will still have the division wrapped up and our ticket to the playoffs punched, but we wont want to go into the playoffs on a 3 game skid. bad for morale. If we put the Bucs away in week 16, i think we dont play everyone in this game and end up losing in what amounts to win-or-stay-home for the Falcons.

12-4
