Because of the structural stuff I mentioned earlier, don't be surprised if it shifts east and hits Naples.  thing has a mind of its own right now

This.  It looks like it's moving east.

Charlotte is projected to get 4" of rain and wind gusts of 50mph with current track.  If this thing shifts just a little east, it will be 60mph wind gusts and 4-6 inches of rain.

I have noticed that hurricanes tend to shift east as they make landfall.  I have nothing to back this up other than my observations and memory in the past.  I hope it does.  It means I will get worse weather where I am now, but I will be okay here.  Much more concerned about what we are going back to.

They do mostly but Irma doesn't have anything to steer it North.

Also with it in the gulf it can reform with the warm water so it isn't done yet.

"A Florida sheriff has pleaded with citizens not to shoot at Hurricane Irma, saying they “won’t turn it around”.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office warned that shooting weapons at the most dangerous Atlantic hurricane to hit the US since records began “will have very dangerous side effects”.

As many as 53,000 people said they were interested in a Facebook event called “Shoot At Hurricane Irma”, and 25,000 people said they would participate on Saturday evening."
