Totally depends on if it pulls a DWill and grunts it's way into the backs of blockers, or pulls a CMC, and bounces to the outside.

If it slams full on into FL, it will lose a lot of steam, but if it jumps back out and hits the gulfstream again, it can pick up where it left off.

Best case, it's a 1/2 by the time it makes landfall in SC/NC...worst case, it builds back up to a high 3, and makes landfall between Hilton Head and Charleston, and heads into CLT.  That would likely cause the most damage, and loss of power.

I'm guessing that ILM is going to get a pretty good taste of it before it's all said and done.

This.  Basically it's either Miami bears the full brunt of what could still be a Cat5 storm, or it slides east, scrapes the entire cost of FL and slams into northern SC, where we here in SE NC will on the north and east side and get the worst winds.  Pretty much lose, lose however you look at it, just don't know who's going to lose most yet... :(

It's still currently a Cat5 with 180MPH sustained and about to hit warmer water.  No telling what this thing could do.  it could be really bad.  If I was in S Florida right now, I'd be heading north in a hurry.

Best case...it makes a hard right turn to sea...that ain't happening though.

It's either Miami gets a TKO, or NC/SC gets slammed with a Cat 2-4 depending.
