So? How many of those were actually catchable and uncontested and who decides? If a WR has two steps on a defender but the ball is slightly under thrown and gets tipped, is it the WR's fault?

You can't be serious

You're talking about first two years production. LG points out number of targets as to why Funchess' production was higher and this is your reply????

We wouldn't be trading for Kearse in his rookie season, we would be trading for Kearse the player he is now which is the more productive player at this point. The Panthers are wins mode now, if Funchess is ready to take that step great if he is not, we don't have the window to wait until he reaches his peak.

What window? If we don't win the SB this season because Funchess doesn't develop into a pro bowler, does that mean the dream is over forever?

Based on what, exactly? Byrd has one career catch and Samuel has zero and his longest play in the pre season was 7yds.

They fit the offensive scheme better, I'll let the season show you.

We already know what Funchess offer #4/5 production.

Dude, Byrd will be lucky to even make the team, much less get a uniform on Sundays and Samuel is nowhere near ready to be a starter. Funchess will the #2 WR when we play the 49ers. That's just the way it is.

You can go back and search if you want but I've broken down last season vs. career averages (with the Panthers) for all of our receivers last year, including Olsen. Everyone except for Funchess and Philly were at or above their averages. So, what was different for KB, Olsen, and Ginn? They combined for far more targets than Philly and Funchess, so if it was all because Cam sucked I'd expect their numbers to be heavily impacted as well. They weren't.

It amazes me when people want to throw shade at our former MVP QB to try to defend a former 2nd round draft pick bust.

Like I said we have 16 games to play, Wasn't he demoted in the Jags game right?

We didn't draft Samuel / CMC for no reason

Byrd is easily making the roster.

Literally the only thing we can hang on hats in regarding Funchess is his age.

There's no sugar coating that he's been pretty terrible in his two seasons and honestly the only reason he got the opportunities that he did was because our WR corps was so weak. The guy wouldn't see the field on a team wth a decent WR corps. Hell, he wouldn't make the roster.

Funchess has 54 catches for 844yds and 9 TD's in two seasons and he didn't even start the first one. How is that so terrible?

How long does Greg Olsen, Jonathon Stewart, Thomas Davis, Ryan Kalil, Julius Peppers, Charles Johnson, have to play at a high level, do they have forever to wait for Funchess to become a viable option opposite Benjamin so that the Panthers can have a more balanced passing attack.
