Lol.

So by this logic who cares Hurney signed Deangelo Williams and all those guys to huge contracts that handcuffed us the following years right?

We gave up a 4th but who cares that we can't get that back it's all about what happens now right? The lack of a 4th (even though it seems small) limits Hurney's ability to trade up if need  be or do some other things next year. Those mid round picks make for good add ons to complete trade packages

I don't spend one second of my day worrying about what Hurney did back then. I do worry about what he might do now though.

In that case I'm pretty happy that Hurney doesn't have that pick to package for one of his disasterous trade-ups.

So....we traded for one of the best punters in the league with a 4th round pick, got a few games out of him before injury, then traded him for peanuts because we like a punter who doesn't put up the stats Lee does?

1. A trade hasn't happened at this point.

2. Define punter "stats". There is much more to punting than a punter's average punt ditance. Think situational punting.

I won't argue that Andy is still one of the best punters in the league, i will play devil's advocate for a second just using last years numbers:

Andy Lee 9 Games 36 punts 49.1 AVG 18 NET 40.4 inside 20. (2017 5 punts 42.5 1 inside 20)

Mike Palardy 7 Games 36 punts 42.5 AVG NET NET 37.7 13 inside 20. (2017 3 Games 2 punts per game Avg 48.5 4 inside 20 on 6 punts)

Andy Lee 2017 Cap $2.6

Palardy 2017 Cap $540k

***Based on last year and so far this year... its a no brainer...

I think it would be a different story if Gettleman was still here. I think the point is: the guy who messed up and made this stupid trade for Lee in the first place isn't here anymore, so the usual Huddle bitching isn't warranted. I think we can all agree that the trade for Andy Lee was one of Gettleman's dumbest decisions he made here.

I guess that depends on how many games we expect Lee to play for us. Do we expect him to be healthy for the entire season. Lee's net punting average according to NFL.com is 49.1 compared to Parlady's at 37.9 I don't know what I'm missing on NFL.com punter stats for 2016 but Parlardy is ranked 12 and Lee is ranked 21...

Do we really want to give that up. Lee is a weapon that we need to hold onto.
