Agree with you on Hurney. Not as critical of Ron as you are though. And no ever since DG was fired I have not expected good decisions but I can still hope for them.

People still focusing on the 4th rounder we gave up for him. What's done is done. It's the sunk cost fallacy. Look at what we can get for him or Palardy right now, and make the deal instead of outright cutting one and recouping nothing in return.

The more this unfolds the less the initial trade makes sense.

The way I rationalized giving up a 4th for him was that we were supposed to make a strong playoff push, and keep him at least a few more seasons. Instead we only won 6 games behind a patchwork OL that we did basically nothing to improve in the offseason. To be completely honest I'm wondering how the 2016 offseason is going to look several years down the line when our Super Bowl window slams shut.

That's a major step away from the constant complaining of Hurney trades from 10-15 years ago. Gettleman made a bad trade and it's "Let's move on, guys."

I'm not condoning it or trying to focus too much on it. It's just hypocritical.

So by this logic who cares Hurney signed Deangelo Williams and all those guys to huge contracts that handcuffed us the following years right?

We gave up a 4th but who cares that we can't get that back it's all about what happens now right? The lack of a 4th (even though it seems small) limits Hurney's ability to trade up if need  be or do some other things next year. Those mid round picks make for good add ons to complete trade packages
