How many of these guys would be snatched off our practice squad?

Butker would certainly get a shot somewhere else, probably Tampa.

Only players I'd be slightly scared of getting picked up are Armah, and Butker. I'm pretty certain at some point in the year, Butker would be picked up. I doubt Armah would, but his chances of getting picked up are greater than the other guys on the list. If Gano is going to screw up, I hope it's early in the season. We can cut him, then sign Butker quickly

It will be a free for all but there are very few players that are actually a surprise to NFL scouts. Even 99% of the UDFA's were scouted in college by pretty much every team and they are all going through the film of every pre season game to see who is making plays at a position of need. If you can play, NFL teams will find you.

They have to clear waivers before they can be assigned to a practice squad and I would bet that neither Cox nor Armah would clear waivers.

And teams rarely place kickers on the PS.

It's not going to matter about Butker if they don't let him kick in these games. I know it's a competition, but why not let the new guy show what he can do? IMO, Gano didn't need to play at all last night. I'm kind of hoping that they have already made up their minds to keep Butker and are letting Gano audition for other teams right now, but I have nothing to base it on.
