Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel - Duo Debut

Jeremy Igo

Recommended Posts

So last night we got to see both Christian McCaffrey and Curtis Samuel in Panthers uniforms together for the first time.

How are you feeling about the Panthers first two picks?

Did Samuel do enough to help ease your concerns over the time that he has missed?

Do you want to ever see CMC return punts in a preseason game again?

Just now, mjligon said:

Samuel made the most of his opportunities...he literally did more in a few snaps than Shepard has done all preseason...not sure if that's a sign of things to come or what.

I remain optimistic about this kid.

Pretty sure he came within a grabbed jersey from breaking away for a touchdown.

CMC is going to open our offense play calling up and Curtis is going to keep defenses off balance, they really compliment each other. This personnel is the best Cam has ever worked with hands down. Shep has let me down but it is preseason and it was DA that has thrown the most. Btw DA is Bortles sadly.

KB WR1

DF WR2

CS WR3

RS WR4

DB WR5

What I loved is how we got to see Samuel in the short game. That's one thing I wanted to see and validate, and he delivered.

I know he's a very good deep threat, there's no doubt he's fine there. But seeing him quickly work the short game and making the most of it was great.

There was one short gain where he literally looked like he was on 2x speed and everyone else was at 1x. He's got a very fast step and stride to him.

I like what I saw from both of them. That McCaffery run for 3 yards on 3rd down was his best run so far in preseason for me. That play looked dead in the water but he was able to somehow maneuver himself for a third down and extend our drive.  Samuel looks shifty, besides McCaffery, who is technically a RB, he can get open vertically and horizontally.
