Pretty sure it's more about them practicing the fake punt in the preseason rather than them feeing desperate. It's common to see trick plays in the preseason.

Not disagreeing...I just always thought teams were pretty vanilla during preseason without showing too many gadget plays

They are as far as the offensive play calling. The preseason is when they get to practice these kind of plays without any real risk. It's also why the Panthers went for two after the CAP TD. Practice.

Special Teams have like 4 plays. Kick right, kick left, kick middle, surprise go for it.

He was talkin bout Offense primarily.

I don't know how much it will impact everyone's evaluations of all of our D-Line prospects, but according to the Jaguars boards, they left their starting O-Line in for the majority of the game.

I saw that too. I think he was playing left guard on that play, not center. I saw him with some good downfield blocks on the next series too.

I think the thing that excited me the most was viewing the possibility of "combinations" for this season.

Here is what I mean by that,

Stew and CMC- the McStewy? Just sick out there... 8/10 plays in that first drive to score were runs (I know, big surprise), but with the versatility of having both of them trading off running the ball, we were actually successfully moving it down the field. If we can keep Stew healthy and continue to have him as the power back while we can use CMC for his speed- there's no telling what our running game can do this year assuming the O line can block properly. Not to mention you've got CMC out there for the pass if needed. Gave me good feels with those 2.

The other combo that I noticed is just our defense in general. There were a few plays with Pepp grabbing the guy, and maybe not completely catching him, they turn around and BAM Luke's got em on the ground immediately, saw it in our secondary as well. I tend to stay lightly pessimistic going into the season since we tend to play like poo in our first few games ....but Im having a hard time seeing negatives for the defensive line other than possibly a pash rush in the 3rd/4th quarter. Just have to see what Pep is really going to add, I guess

It was hard to judge any receivers while DA was out there, he couldn't get anyone the ball.  That screen attempt to Samuel LOL
