These two team met in their first ever NFL game. Growing up in Florida I knew already how much Jax sucked but this game cemented my hatred for that city well into adulthood.

I didn't start following the Panthers until the 2003 season , but I did watch a few games from the late 90s. In this first game I would have just barely been 4 years old and my dad was more of a basketball fan at the time .

Hall of fame game correct? I was in 5th grade I believe, so tires of watching the damn cowboys on TV,  I just decided I liked the Panthers more haha it stuck, I got clowned on forever through school, but I didn't care, at least I wasn't a bandwagon cowboy, 49er, raider, steeler fan

Interesting that Steve Beuerlein was one of the Jags QB's in that game, and a RB named Christian (Bob) was our leading receiver.

yep, I was watching that game.  I was really worried cause they got Brunell, and it was a close game, but we pulled it out.  I really wanted us to win our first game ever, and we did.  I was watching like it was a regular season game.

I'm old by the way.
