Still impressed with Gilbert. He's improved over the course of the preseason and now looks better than our supposed #2 QB.

Great first series with Cam. 10 plays 75 yards in 6 minutes. One checkdown to CMC,  then nice pass to KB in stride for TD. Good run blocking and pass protection overall. Samuel looked quick and caught a couple of passes.  Defense looked good but Worley struggled on a few plays. Biggest story is how bad Derek Anderson has been. Offense stalled while he was in.

I honestly think we can get more out of Gilbert than DA.. the age. DA was never a great QB. He has gotten us by in games and is a cool dude but thats it. Gilbert gives us young guy who wants it and is great for practice. Competes and has an upside, seems to know the plays. 

I think that pushes the WRs, Tight ends, and QBs even more.

Is it me, or does Gilbert look better than DA. Yeahi know that DA was going against some 1's and 2's and Gilbert was going against the 3's and 4's, but Gilbert was getting the ball out quickly and accurate...

I agree, DA is done.  I like what I've seen of Gilbert so far considering he's 4th string.
