I don't see how we can risk cutting him and having some other team snatch him up. They're all watching this film too and it's going to be pure chaos on cutdown day. His ceiling it just too damn high to risk it, IMO.

Yeah cut downs will be insane this year. Everyone cuts on one day and then the waiver wires will melt. It's going to be weird. I wonder if teams will trade for back of the roster players to avoid that insanity. We'll give you this 3rd string guy for that 3rd string guy. Strange.

I feel like Armah is perfect for special teams. The kid has size, speed,  and tackling ability. ST alone should be the reason why he should make the team

The question is if we keep Young over Armah, will he even get a uniform?  There are bottom of the roster guys that will make the team, but not dress during games.  So, the question is how would they use Young if he wins the job?  If he'll just be sitting on the bench during games, might as well keep Armah and let him develop without risking someone else seeing the potential and snatching him up (remember, Brandon Beane was still on staff for the draft, so knows what we saw in him and might be willing to take a flier on Armah if we expose him).

Another thought, could Armah also be competing with Manhertz for a roster spot?  I know they aren't playing the same position, but if we're looking to stash a developmental guy on the roster, could they be choosing between those two since it's unlikely either will see the field unless something catastrophic happens.

I could indeed see them cutting Tolbert for Armah, but they did sign the Falcons FB this offseason so if they plan on keeping Tolbert, I'd say they're out of the running for Armah.

I forgot they signed DiMarco.  And to be honest, I doubt they would cut Tolbert.  But since they appear to be in tank mode anyway, it's not out of the question, and I could see them claiming Armah and stashing him on the bottom of the roster to let him develop.  I guess it depends on how much Beane likes Armah...if he even likes him at all.

Keep him as a 3rd TE. If you need a true TE you can always find one.

He has earned a spot. What has Young done ?

a player should have to be more than a veteran

I think you have to gamble. You can always find another Young....if not young himself if it flops.
