How To Look Like a Football GENIUS

Step 1: Pick a player on our team not performing well

Step 2: Pick a player at the same position on another team who's perfoming well

Step 3: Berate your team for picking the guy not doing well over guys doing well

Step 4: Ignore the fact that most other NFL teams did the same thing

Step 5: When people point out you had no clue the guys doing well would be doing well before the season started, simply say "I'm not paid to do this! They are!"

Step 6: Avoid giving any concrete suggestions on players for the future as people will probably laugh at you, not to mention bring it up in the future.

Step 7: Play sad music. Cut self. Cry.

Best post of the year.

And I thought this was basic football knowledge.. and yet, we have to continue to point this out time and time again. On this note, our QB issues don't fall on Jake's shoulders as much as our OLine's... Look at Brady against the Jets or even the Raven's. Even Aaron Rodgers last night. We have to get this line back to form because this year, it, alone, is killing us.

Well said!!

And yet threads like this will continue simply because they get confirmation like this:

just a result of this team's blatant refusal to go out there and grab a do-it-all safety because of their archaic philosophy that it's not that important of a position.

yes it is completely irrational to think that we've never replaced Minter or even Deon Grant and we pretty much have the worst safeties in the league without Harris because we've never cared about depth at that position or for that matter starters, I'm just a hater hater hater.

back to your regularly scheduled groveling.

How to act like a condescending douchebag that knows everything, yet knows nothing:

Step 1: Never make any observations about football on a football board, instead, wait for others to post and insult them with meaningless garble.

Step 2: Get a good group of dickriding thread-goers to co-sign your every post as though it is the greatest post ever made. After all, the internet is about popularity.

Step 3: Continue to ride the fence on all issues so no one can ever say you did or didn't say anything... Yeah, then I'll look smart!

Step 4: Make posts like the one quoted, and you're a winner for life, no matter if your mom said she should've had an abortion.

most fans were quite impressed with Godrey last year. he is making a lot of mistakes this season, but so is most of our team. i think Meeks can make him into a great talent like he has done with most every secondary he has worked with.

Implying that Deon Grant was anything more than an awful trainwreck of a draftpick... lol

By the time he was serviceable, he was gone.

...that's kind of my point...

look at all the great safeties that have started for us

Colin Branch

Quintin Teal

Deke Cooper (haha)

Who? Godfrey was horrible last year. Horrible. There was a group of defenders last year that said he was a rookie and there was potential there....but he impressed NOBODY last year. He didn't make rookie mistakes last year....he simply looked like a guy that had business playing S in the NFL. He has continued that this year.

Thank you, that was the point of the thread. There were veteran guys like Dawkins and Sharper (proven veterans) available, yet we stuck with Godfrey. I am not one who was impressed with Godfrey last year. I thought he was a poor tackler and not much of a ballhawk to have the speed he has.

This year he has looked worse. It's clear that safety is not an area the FO thinks is important, much like WR. I was thinking during the Dallas game how much Godfrey made me miss Deke Cooper.
