What Happens When Christian McCaffrey Faces A Normal NFL Linebacker?

Imagine him in New England....makes my cringe thinking of the ways Shula will waste him.

I never noticed till now but McCaffrey reminds me a lot of Wes Welker. Small frame with that quick juke, plus speed with the ball and tough to find in a crowd.

I wish people were this excited about the entire team like they lactating over CMC. Insane.... Let the man play a real NFL game before you mention HOF players in the same sentence. Lol

People ARE excited about the team but this thread is about CMac. Interestingly enough, these seem to be the only threads you ever post in.

How many of you guys actually played football before? These drills favor the offense. These are just drills. This is not real game football. Like we ALL know CMC is the best route runner in thee entire draft. He is literally the perfect slot WR. Temper your fandom

well damn man, I had to check and make sure I wasn't reading the "not to be a downer" thread...

A bigger, faster, quicker Welker. And that's just the receiver side of him.

Omg people can CMC take a snap in the real NFL game before y'all start mentioning being better than Brian Westbrook and Marshall Faulk??? Smhhhhhhh

Serious question, but how did "hope he turns into," and "he's been compared to" turn into "better than Brian Westbrook and Marshall Faulk" in your thinking?

Until CMC jukes players in a REAL NFL game like he does in 1v1  drills I can not and will not compare him to Marshall Faulk or Brian Westbrook. PERIOD So you may disagree but there are many cases of Homerism floating around already. I just don't want anything to do with that kind of fan base. I root for the Panthers as a whole. IT is not about individual players trumping over the team. Before you know it we will blame cam, or ron or the OL if CMC never cracks 1,000 yards rushing his first year.

He's much smoother than Wes Welker. I would consider Wes and Julian to be a poor mans version of McCaffrey which makes it all the more frightening. And to @ladypanther, the criticism was of Shula's MO to underutilize the weapons he has. McCaffrey's potential would likely be maxed out at 100% in New England, so using that as a benchmark. I expect Shula to get to 70%, optimistically.

Ummm, how about Marshall Faulk?

That's who Tomlinson and Sharpe compared him to.

When Westbrook played for the Eagles, Andy Reid had him everywhere.  RB, slot receiver, WR,  So I'm hoping Shula gets creative with him.
