Writes for @RoaringRiot and other sites for analysis pieces. Formerly contributed to NFLBreakdowns. So yes, he does watch film moreso than the majority of fans.

just leave it. most people simply can't understand that their favorite player isn't what he use to be, and that this was a overspend

Not just me that feels that way. Plenty of people that actually watched tape thinks the same:

You are just like a lot of other people. You threw Davis in a hole and buried him before his time. Shaq is a part of the equation for sure, and Davis realizes that, but TD's ultimate numbers don't justify him not being out there for appreciable snaps, and that doesn't even take into account his experience and leadership.

Shaq will play more and more as Davis declines, but the man's play says that he's not ready to be put out to pasture (even if he has to play alongside Shaq in a lesser capacity at some point)

The contract is a deal!

Hence why I said no one was complaining about the contract. I'm just complaining that Shaq should be getting more snaps.

Thomas Davis is one of my favorite all time Panthers. Of course I'm glad he's on the team. I just think Shaq is better at this point in their careers.

If Shaq gets more snaps, all the more better.

Thomas Davis said before him and Gettleman were both working on it before the firing. Not entirely all on Hurney.

Even if I accept your point---which I really don't because Gettleman is long gone and has nothing to do with this---it's not all G-man either.

Give the man some credit!

This is also the exact culture that killed us during the Hurney era. Making panthers players happy by overpaying them and handicapping us in the future. Sure we won't see it now but a couple of years down the line when we do a feel good extension for Olsen, Davis, and other guys we are going to feel the cap. We need to be more like Belichick where he puts a value on you and you aren't paid any more than that. Honestly DG ran things alot like Belichick but DG has alot more personality.

You heard it hear first, fellas. Gettleman is 5x Super Bowl winning coach-lite.

It's not even about TD being "a favorite player".  It's overhyping Shaq (who I do like and hope great things for, he's improved, but he was NOT borderline elite last year LOL) and glorifying some jag who is writing "analysis" for some fansite because he probably couldn't even cut it at bleacherreport....  Has TD slowed down some?  Sure.  He's still better than 80% of 4-3 OLBs in the league and damn sure better than any on this team.
