Thomas Davis signs contract extension

I'm not mad. Easily justifiable! Davis has earned his relatively modest contract the last few years. His injuries may have ironically extended his career. Every time someone wants to throw dirt on him, he ultimately balls out, just like last year. He's still a bargain until his play says otherwise. I'm not presuming to force him into backup status just because people at his age normally are. Go talk to James Harrison. Davis seems that tough.

Since we will never cut TD, all the 6,75m is basically guaranteed barring injury. 6,75m is too much for what should then be a backup. There goes the possibility of signing both Star and Norwell I assume. I completely symphatize with Gettleman if he wanted to priotitize Star and/or Norwell over TD. Especially at this price

just to look at it from both sides, who knows if TD was asking the same amount from Gettleman.  It's completely possible he lowered his asking price because of the backlash following Gettleman's release, and was willing to sign for less from Hurney.

However, those nimrods talking about $7mil for a backup?!  LOLOLOL  a backup?  who's starting over him?  Sure as poo not Shaq, even in nickel situations.  Shaq comes in when we have 3 LBs but TD is still superior, and probably will be next year too.

Um no. Shaq Thompson was borderline elite last year. Thomas Davis is still good, but Shaq was the better player.

TD probably took less guaranteed under Hurney because he know he won't get cut, ever.    With DG, he didn't know, and probably wanted more.    Of course just guessing.    It's probably a bit too much, but for Hurney it's not terrible.   If we lose Norwell or Star over a couple million then we'll look back at this different.
