Dosent greenbay have its starting LT and backup out.??..its hard to question peppers desire. on everyplay you see it from Allen because he is a loud high motor guy.peppers is not. Even when his game is on thats just not him and too fans i think that can come off like he is not trying when its really that he is just sucking..and him sucking can be for a million unknown reasons.

Jared Allen had 15.5 sacks with Alphonso Boone, Ron Edwards, and Tamba Hali as his other D-linemen in 2007. Julius Peppers had 2.5 sacks in 2007 with Maake Kemoeatu, Kris Jenkins, and Mike Rucker. Sorry, this is more than a trend for this year.

Look I'm not saying that Julius Peppers is God or anything, in fact, I think he needs to pick up his game big time. But he had a bad year that season and we all know that but last year Allen 14.5 sacks vs Peppers 14.5 sacks, and peppers had more forced fumbles. Peppers is faster, bigger, better in coverage, and has about the same instincts as Allen. The only thing that Allen has is a great Monday night game that everyone watched, a better and more talented defensive line and secondary, and a better overall motor.

In America we call them "Dollars".

What did you think of Allen's performance against All Pro Left Tackle Jordan Gross last year? The stat sheet does not always show what a force he is.

I love how a game-changing, MVP, dominating, franchise player needs support to shed a single block from a tight end or a running back.

I also saw Allen get single blocked right out of a play, go on a stunt and just stand there while other players forced the QB to his side, over run a screen that led to a big play, and sack a QB that held the ball for over 6 seconds in the pocket (thats called a coverage sack because the QB had no one to go to). Its not as impressive as you are making it out to be.

Yes, Allen is a good player but this is like comparing Steve Smith and Larry Fitzgerald. One has more drive and determination (and tougher) and the other is more physically gifted and has a better supporting cast. If Smith played in that offense last year I can only imagine what he would have done. Its a ridiculous argument.

That's about the last thing I'm concerned with in a defensive end.

I'm one of the biggest homers on this board, and even I think that Allen > Peppers, and it's not even close.

Allen had more sacks tonight then Peppers will have all season. Take it to the bank. He was going the heck off tonight, and showed the country exactly what an all-world defensive end looks, plays, and acts like. I hope Peppers was watching and thinking "Why am I making more money than this guy?"

But then again, that's just me.

Game, Set, and Match!

The fact that I said "Who?" to the first two guys, and only know Hali because he was a highly-touted draft picking coming out that year just goes to show you how much more Allen made out of less.

A more ridiculous argument is this straw man argument about surrounding talent and nitpicking one or two plays from tonight. Do you know how many times we could point out all the plays that Peppers did next to nothing last Monday night? Or how many times he was handled one-on-one by Mike freaking Gandy in the playoff game last year?
