I wish Peppers was as good as Jared Allen

Damn, I was going to start that same thread but honestly I think Peppers IS better than Allan...physically. As much as I hate and loathe Jared Allen (such a big mouth), I think he is a good player who has a big time motor. I really tried to watch him tonight and see if he was that much better and I just don't see it. He takes plays off too, when the QB does a three step drop he's a non factor too, and he gets caught up field way too much as well.

So what makes him so much "better" in the sense that he gets more pressure and makes more plays? Allen plays on a much more talented defense, its as simple as that. If Peppers played beside the "Williams Wall" and had that secondary then he would probably have 5-6 sacks by now. This is so obvious when you think about it, but what is disturbing is the lack of attention that the defensive line has received in the last few seasons.

It seems like it wasn't until this year that we started addressing the defensive line problem and honestly Corvey Irvin and Everette Brown aren't going to help anytime soon...if ever. If Fox doesn't get fired then he has to make that defensive line a priority in the offseason and surround Peppers with some talent to work with. Maybe if he can do that then Peppers can match or surpass Allen in talent and production.

I would take Peppers anyday so as to not have to look at that moron.

You see Jenkins kill that defensive stand yesterday? Close game, 4th n inches and he jumped offsides?

I laughed. Couldn't have happened to a nicer prick.

yeah i laughed too, very familiar

though i'm sure some people on this forum will claim it was fox's coaching that caused him to do that

Peppers is a freak, but the fact is, he's not a good football player. You start looking at those things as indicator's of a good football player and you're basically just being Al Davis.

There's a reason why JaMarcus Russel is the worst QB in the league right now. Why Peppers is the most overpaid person in any profession in human history.

Raw ability means nothing at the pro level. It's something to build on, but you can't survive on it alone.

Peppers is not a better football player than Jared Allen in any stretch of the imagination and that's what matters.

LMFAO. Allen can handle a double team and knows how to BLOW UP a TE. The motor part of Peppers ran down his daddy's leg.

:willy_nilly: you are delusional. Allen goes hard on every play. he played hard in KC on every down, hes plays hard in Minn on every down. Peppers can't lace Allen's cleats.

They gave a first and third for him. based on Peppers' play this year, we'd be lucky to get just a third.

The Peppers debacle has enough blame for lots of people. Peppers being one of them. No get out of jail free card for him cause he said he wanted out.

League/Players Association rules say a team can franchise a player and pay him 20% above what he earned last year. That is what Hurney/Fox did... and why they own 2/3 of the blame for the condition the Panthers are in now.

Letting one guy count $18,000,000 against your cap is insane, especially when that player really is not worth that much to begin with. There are guys every year who are tagged as Franchise players, but they go out and produce.

Peppers is over rated and will depart a year too late from Carolina... Perhaps Fox and Hurney won't be far behind. :hurray: We can only hope.

if he didn't want to be here last off season, i can imagine he will want to go so badly after this season that he may just go ahead and sign a tender. i still think we should get something for him. if this season continues like it is, it won't be much, but it will be something.
