I'm a DG supporter but I look at his moves logically and with objectivity. There are DG picks I hated and don't understand at all then and now, but Ealy just isn't one of them. There are other DG moves, like rescinding the Norman tag, I don't like either. But all in all he did a very good job overall of managing the cap and setting up the roster as a whole. 

This isn't a hindsight type thing, I lost my mind when we picked Ealy instead of Robinson and never liked Ealy the prospect. 

And the "you can't hit on every pick" logic is used wayyyyyyyy too much around here for every single on of Gettleman's misses. It's a 2nd rounder, you shouldn't be missing on them period. I'm not going back and forth about Ealy anymore, him getting cut in NE will just further prove what I've been saying since the day we drafted him.

We're an organization that likes to build from within. This isn't a Gettleman vs Hurney thing this is a whoever the hell is picking can't miss in the 2nd round thing

And how many picks did you love that turned out to bust and other picks you hated that turned out to be great? It's silly to do what you're doing, and always do on here. I hated the idea of taking Funchess before the draft, and did not like it when we traded up for him. I don't harp on it wanting him to fail so that I can be right. Nor do I go and rip DG hoping he's fired because of one pick, or even several, that I didn't like. I want Funch to succeed here, and still hope he can despite his struggles. You never wanted Ealy to succeed.

ne patriots second rounders between 2013-2016 were jamie collins, aaron dobson, cyrus jones, jordan richards, and jimmy garoppalo.

one of those guys blew up and went all pro and they traded him away. the rest are either depth or busts that they let go of. if they can't consistently draft studs in the 2nd, then that's pretty much all you need to know that this is a stupid metric to judge a personnel evaluator on.
