Would You Agree We May Be Fielding Our Best Overall Team This Year?

I don't understand why people are so worried about the offense. This is a good group with plenty of potential to do everything they did in 2015 and more, if they can just gel and stay fairly healthy.

Which they can't if Cam Newton is not throwing to them much before the season starts

On offense? No

Inconsistent #1 wr, #2 can't get open.

Question mark at RT, and O-Line depth period, and #2 TE

On defense? Maybe, but doubtful,

Adams in as good as this board makes him seem, DE depth is horrible, and outside of Bradberry, we don't really have decent corners.

On special teams? Maybe

Thays just my observations thus far in the off season,  Rivera is a horrible evaluator of talent and tends to keep people like teddy Williams around, but we shall see, fingers crossed it all works out this year.

Today, there is only potential of what this team can be. There is promise but it means nothing if we don't execute and have relative good health.

That said, if our defense can perform to the best they can be, we'll be the 2015 Broncos with a slightly better offense. It would be fitting if that's gets up to the top of the mountain.

Good points. Partly why I'm a bit weary on saying for sure our offense will dominate. Lots of potential, but lots of stuff unproven.

Defensively, only scenario I see of us being bad is through injury. Otherwise we're top 5 for sure.

Defense is older than I'd prefer from a dominant, championship defense. 7 key pieces on D are older--Coleman, Adams, Pep, CJ, Addison, Captain and TD. Hoping our coaching and their experience and the rest of the young pieces are enough to make up for that but I'm still weary of our D being better than 2013 particularly because of the DE spot. Very similar to that D if you switch CB from weaker then to stronger now and DE to stronger then and weaker now, and I value strong DE play much more than CB and so does our scheme. But we'll see what happens there.

Offense is a huge question mark in pretty much every area. Then again, so was 2015 and we know how that turned out so we'll just have to wait and see. Potential is there at pretty much every position group on O but we just have to put it all together and get some leaps forward from certain players. Shula being the guy to do that makes me worry a bit, but again we'll just have to see what happens.

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

I can't put the 2003 Panthers over the 2015 Panthers.

Good as the 2003 team was, a 15-1 season is historic.

There are a ton of different factors but ultimately I think the 2003 team was better because it had a more championship caliber defense and run game, which are the most consistent winners of super bowls. '15 relied quite a bit on offensive heroics against lesser defenses, as well as the turnover battle being unusual and a fair amount of luck, and that all ends in the big game. We were never even in it, against a historically poor SB team in Denver that year. Whereas we came so damn close to winning in 2003 against a historically good Patriots team that was also cheating.
